Somewhat concerning that this is the 2nd straight game in which he calls out the effort of the players and seems very disappointed by it.

I'm glad he's calling them out.

Same but can't be a good thing that after all the hype about a new fresh start for the Suns, effort is an issue in 2 of the 3 first pre season games.

I'm glad he's calling them out.

I understand what Kokoskov is trying to do...but come on, the problem is not effort.

Do you think that Irving plays with more effort than Harrison or Canaan?

Our biggest problem is talent. It is the most important thing in the NBA.

We do not have any PG and Kokoskov wants to play always with one PG on the court. We are wasting 48 mpg on players that are third string at best.

I think with effort he's talking more about effort to follow the playbook and not resort to street basketball tendencies.....to play basketball and not just hoop. It's sloppy.

I think Kokoskov wants players to stick to the game plan. We need to play more as a team and buy into the system.

Kokoškov was a great hire, just based off everything we’ve heard out of Utah during his recent stint as an assistant with the Jazz. He’s been a key assistant for six different NBA teams over 18 years, plus he had a successful run as head coach of the Slovenian national team. He understands modern offensive needs better than Earl Watson and Jay Triano. The Jazz are consistently in the top five of passes made per game, emphasizing ball movement and optimal shot selection. Utah just didn’t have a scorer of Booker’s volume and caliber until last year, so they were never flashy or exciting. Kokoškov has to work to change the culture and defensive schemes the Suns’ holdover players are used to — because both were so horrendous.

The free agency signing of Trevor Ariza and recent trade for Ryan Anderson signals they want to win now. While that’s not realistic considering the playing field, Ariza and Anderson should go a long way in the locker room. Their teammates usually love them, and Phoenix’s plan is to have both on the floor for a large chunk of minutes.

You just hope that doesn’t interfere with the playing time needed for sophomore Josh Jackson, rookie Mikal Bridges, or 21-year-old Dragan Bender, who we shouldn’t fully give up on yet.

I was going to list Koko as an honorable mention in the Nashty thread but this man deserves his own post. It feels so good to finally have a legitimate NBA coach that so far has done a fantastic job with this team despite not being a head coach (in the NBA) before. I can't wait to see how Koko and our team grow together throughout the season. There will no doubt be road bumps along the way but I am extremely excited for the Koko era in Suns basketball. :D

Kokoskov is amazing. Getting way ahead of myself here but he has a chance to be our Gregg Popovich.

He won't win 5 titles most likely but he's an offensive genius and you can see that just based on 1 game. 35 effing assists? I love it.
