NLCS Lead Up Thread - Gio, Miley, Chacin, Games 1, 2, 3

Post#1 » by humanrefutation » Mon Oct 8, 2018 1:57 am

Dodgers up 2-0 and just came back to tie the Braves. They'd be a tough opponent.

We're going to have to face a tough team from the AL in the WS after the NLCS, too.

We've got to be ready.

Yeppers.

The Dodgers really worked us quite well the last series in LA and sure seem like a tougher play than the Rockies. But, hey, at this point I will never doubt this team's chances. We just need to hold out hope our offense gets a bit hotter. I mean, 2 runs in 3 games is unbelievable pitching. Hats off to Counsell, the coaching staff, and the pitching.

Who'd have thunk on the same Fall day

(1) The Brewers start Wade Miley in an NLDS game in Colorado in 2018

and

(2) Mason Crosby misses 4 of 5 fg's and an XP in Detroit

I can't believe I typed those two statements. :o

So would the Dodgers be more or less of a lock to beat the brewers than the Cubs were to win the division?

The last time we went to a WS, we beat a team from LA to do so.

Braves up on the 9th
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

When will the times come out for the NLCS?> Not until Dodgers/ATL winner is decided?

I mean it looks like LAD will win, but that would be good for later start times when we play away.

They didn't really work us in LA. We won the first two, lost in extras in the 3rd and then Chacin and the team got destroyed in the last one.

When we didn't have to pitch Williams or Albers against them we were pretty decent.

Don't mind playing LA. Obviously they are really good, but we generally play them very well, especially in LA. Miley has dominated them this season and besides that one disaster with Chacin starting, they're offense was pretty limited by our usual relievers. They really hammered Williams, Burnes and Woodruff in their relief appearances, which was the main cause for 3 of their 4 wins against us, so that'll be something to watch.

The only times we played this season were within a 2 week span coming out of the break when LA had just acquired Machado and we were slowly coming out of our funk from the crash before the asg.

We might see an opener or two if it's the Dodgers. Make them decide on Joc/Taylor, Hernandez/Utley (didn't carry Utley this series but could), Bellinger/Freese, etc.

With Turner healthy they are platooning a bit less, but it's a thought. Start Knebel and make them put some lefties in the lineup with the uncertainty of Peralta or Miley coming in and then come in with Miley.

Earning the #1 seed has proven to be massive thus far

Gotta root hard for the Braves to extend it to Game 5. Having the Dodgers burn a Kershaw outing on short rest would be massive (which I assume they'd be desperate enough to do should ATL win tonight).

I'm hoping our momentum doesn't get killed with these four days off. Some guys - like Cain - seem like they could use the time off. Others - like JJ - probably don't need to be sitting for that long.

I was on right away and it was already sold out for 2 or 4 tickets for game 2, so I had to do 440 and get 3 tickets. I was trying to take my nephew for his 11th birthday, so I'm glad I was able to come away with something without having to spend a fortune.

I'm going to have nightmares tonight where I'm walking down the road touching every crosswalk, bicycle, bus, fire hydrant, storefront and car I see...
