While I won't admit to thinking that Fitzpatrick would carve up that defense, I figured they'd be behind and playing catch up on the fast track, of course.

But I still was not sold on the Saints' defense (at home). It's like Coors Field in baseball. Even with a good pitching staff like they currently have, I'll believe that the runs/points/touchdowns will be suppressed there if I see it like 3 seasons in a row.

You streamed Fitz? I streamed Dalton.

If we get #1 pick, what position should we draft? Perhaps trade down for another top 5 pick + picks since we don't need a QB?

Never going to happen unfortunately, but I think OTs and OLBs have to be near the top of the list. We will have to see how the WRs pan-out as well as that might become a big need.

Might’ve been due to the luck of not having a ton of time to look into it Sunday morning and going for a high Vegas O/U where I figured Fitz would be trailing...and he’s very good at chucking long out routes on the sideline for garbage points.

Pass rusher. It’s the one position where it’s hardest to find dominant players the further you go down the draft.

Von Miller was the 2nd Pick. Khalil Mack 5th. Aaron Donald 13th. JJ was 11th. Bosa 3rd.

Ya this. Go heavily thinking pass rush, unless there is a generational type of player that depends to be looked at carefully.

If Cleveland ends up beating the Saints, this pick could be on its way to top 10

New Orleans about to win it. Damn the falcons and the NFC are just straight up terrible. If you put up 37 at home you should win by 3 scores at least. Saints could easily have the #1 pick slot right now but will be 2-1. ****.

ETA: on a positive note, it looks like their sh*tty defense is no fluke.

You do know that's the reason the Raiders valued the first round picks from the Bears more and went with them right?

Why do people still think the Packers didnt try to get Mack?

We could have offered saints and ours. , we didn't...see link.
2 2019s have more value than a 2019 and a 2020.....plus getting a 2nd back.

Every report that came out after the trade said that the Raiders weren't valuing neither the Saints pick nor our pick nearly as high as the Bears picks because they thought the odds were heavily on favor of both ours and the Saints picks being in the 25-30 range while they thought the Bears had a great chance at landing in the 10-15 range the next two years. Trade value chart or no they valued the Bears picks significantly higher. (truth be told I agree with the chart that 2 1st rounders in the same year should be worth more then splitting them up and pushing one off a year but God damn if people on this board haven't been saying the opposite ever since draft night)

By all accounts the Packers came in second in the bidding war and there were plenty of rumors that suggested the Raiders wanted both the Packers and Saints picks AND Mike Daniels for Mack and when Gute wasnt willing to give all that the Raiders shipped him for the Bears package because, as has previously been stated, the Raiders valued the two firsts from Chicago much higher then the Saints and Packers picks. We have no idea what the actuall offer was but if this article is to believed, (color me suspicious), then I applaud Gute for holding firm as "other picks" is a fairly ambiguous term. For all the article is inferring we offered a 1st, a 2nd, a 4th and a 2nd a 4th next year

Stop acting like the Packers didnt try and get him or that they only had a low ball offer on the table. Its factually inaccurate even by the article that you linked to prove your point
