I could be wrong.

But if the league wont allow defenders to slow down guys moving off screens then why can't you just run a screen play under the rim for Biid and get him the ball near the paint for high % shot. Its so stupid for me that I also see guys like Bagley or Ingram getting easy baskets with this.

If you dont know what I mean, just watch Biid's highlights for the last 3 games. Getting the ball in the paint is just way easier now for me.

They run that screen a lot for Embiid. Decent amount for Simmons too, and I expect even more this year with him playing off ball more. Redick in particular is surprisingly good at setting screens on big guys.

I'm dubious of whether the refs will keep calling it this strictly. Every year they emphasize things in preseason and early in the year but by the time the playoffs come around people get away with the same stuff.

Embiid shot 1-7 from threein his rookie preseason, then shot 37% in the regular season.

He shot 0-5 from three last preseason and then 32% in the regular season.

His three point shooting this preseason likely isn’t indicative of much, either. Just saying.

I’m not sure if a Embiid is going to shoot 37 percent again, but I think part of the reason for the lower percentage last year was fatigue. He settled for the 3 sometimes when he was tired.

I still think that he should shoot 3-4 a game, just as a trailer on the break, or when wide open.

I think he could if he gets his stamina up, I think his shot is good enough. However, as you mentioned, I think he gets winded and settles, so perhaps not this season. Perhaps in a few season with a few healthy offseasons. Still expecting him to hit about a third, regardless tho.

So many off his shots are rushed which is completely unnecessary when you're the trailing big and 7'2''. It mostly affects his balance, one time he leans backwards, next time his forward momentum makes him jump forward and forces him to alter his follow through.

I think he has the touch to become a good shooter, he just has to acquire a more calm mindset.

He definitely has the touch and the mechanics to be a good shooter. I attribute his current performance (as a whole) more as a matter of inexperience/decision making.

Looks great otherwise though. Feel like he could make another leap to 25-27 ppg this year.

Or you could interpret it the other way around. Embiid to the Warriors confirmed.

I'm afraid his usage is going to go up dramatically which will make him happy but not sure how good that makes us. Ben at times ignores him which is a good thing but Markelle seems completely beholden to giving him the ball. He's gonna put up ridiculous numbers but it might make us worse.

Well, he is the best shot creator we have, and he is a center so that tells you all really. If Fultz can improve and be that shot creator we dreamed of, then things would change, but right now it is what it is. If he has improved then he deserves more usage, if he is the same then he should maintain usage.

I don't mind if his usage goes up as long as that doesn't mean he's shooting 5 threes per game. At some point he needs to use that massive size.

I definitely don't want to see a usage rate increase. We kinda saw that against Boston and his scoring efficiency tanked. Besides, I want him to preserve his energy expenditure on the defensive end so he can be DPotY level.

Not saying its end all be all stat, but his block numbers is on a decline

I'd imagine he's challenged less. Could be a reason for the stat drop.

I also think his block rate from his rookie year was sort of fluky and bound for regression.

Or guys decide not to put up shots with embiid around the paint. Saw plenty of games where opposing players just dribble around the paint and dribble right back out.

Vs someone like Kristaps Porzingis who has high block rate cause they challenging him since they don’t think he’s physical enough
