He was always a slow starter. It is not like he gonna play a lot but he will be better.

Doubt he makes the roster considering 2 more cuts still need to be made and the depth at the PG spot.

Day-and-Night Difference

Basically, what was tweeted. It was an off-hand comment during the telecast but it obviously alluded to Doc's previous Clippers teams of entitled whiners lacking in camaraderie and chemistry. I think Ralph included something to the effect of, "No offense to those teams but..." before making that quoted statement.

While Ralph was spot on, I agree with Russo that it was atypical for him to call out or otherwise criticize previous teams albeit subtly, especially so soon after the fact. I guess given that it's his farewell tour, he's afforded more leeway with whatever gag order that may have shackled him previously.

Milos vs. Wes

I think there's a good chance that Milos Teodosic gets traded to the Suns for a second-round pick. However, if he does not, it's also quite realistic that Wesley Johnson would be cut in favor of keeping Teodosic on the team to help mentor both Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jerome Robinson. Milos and Wes have expiring deals for practically the same value, so it's a matter of who would contribute more to the squad.

Despite our glut of guards, it can be argued that having Teodosic on the roster would provide more contributions, especially towards the development of our rookies. In fact, Milos averaged more minutes played per game (25.2) than Wes (20.1) last season and, despite playing in only 45 games compared to Johnson's 74 during 2017-18, Teodosic was only short 352 total minutes of Wesley's total. It's a relatively significant amount to be sure, but Milos was limited by injury whereas Wes was limited by coach's decision due to his inconsistent contributions.

Again, Milos on the bench could arguably contribute more even in street clothes than Wes in uniform given that he could serve as a coach with his knowledge and basketball intelligence. Plus, Mike Scott's presence limits our reliance on WeJo and even affords Shai minutes at the small forward spot.

It remains to be seen what will actually happen, but I don't think Wesley Johnson is in a favorable position right now.

Obviously the problem wasn't Doc, then.

Isn’t that what Beverly is for?

Not sure having multiple mentors at the same position is a good idea.

Teodosic vs. Beverley

The thing is that Beverley doesn't have the same court vision and playmaking instincts that Teodosic does. Sure, Beverley will lead by example with his grit and determination, but nobody on the roster but Milos can provide insight into running the point at an elite level, which should be invaluable for an aspiring point guard like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Outside of being a good locker room presence, does Wesley Johnson provide leadership or insight into being elite in a certain aspect of the game? No, he doesn't.

It's not like I'm resolute in wanting Teodosic on the roster at any cost and, yeah, with all things being equal, I'd rather have a wing player than a PG when there's already a glut of guards on the roster, but Teodosic arguably has more value whether that is as a trade asset or teammate.

There's a saying that it takes a village to raise a child. Well, the same concept could apply to rookies in being surrounded by multiple beneficial influences. It also doesn't hurt that Teodosic and Beverley have a long-standing positive relationship with each other as well.

I'm actually looking forward to this season more than I thought I would. This is not a championship team but its a group of guys that are easy to root for in my opinion. They show some character and a good sense of humor. I like Boban getting some minutes. I think the NBA has become too much like a summer league and a guy like Boban in the post is like a 15 year old playing against a 10 year old at times. I like that the Clips really look for him down low. He showed some good chemistry with Gallo. Toby, Lou, Boban, and Gallo will have to bring some offense. SGA looked good. Milo had a nice assist.
My eyes glaze over when reading alternative stat (not advanced stat) narratives that go many paragraphs long. If you can not make your point in 2 paragraphs it may not be a great point. :D

Why not? I think he should have four mentors. Avery and Patrick for defense. Lou for offense. Milos for passing and basketball IQ.

He has kind of bad mouthed Griffin a few times since the trade- basically saying that he became a prima Donna over time after being more humble at the beginning of his career
