Damn those warriors for playing unselfish, fundamental basketball!
How dare they move off the ball and not be allowed to run without being held!
NBA sucks and is rigged!!!

Lol, nobody has said anything close to that. Who are you responding to?
In '03-'04, Jerry Sloan coached the ESPN predicted "worst team of all time" to 42-40.

Harden is about to average 30 FTA a game.

Not really, because he handles the ball and you haven't been able to touch ball handler couple year all ready. He doesn't really do that much off the ball, so this rule really doesn't affect his game.

When you have guys like Jordan Bell that can back their ass into someone and scoot both of them away without any whistles during a crucial Game 7 in the WCF, people are rightly gonna complain that a rule which favors the already overpowered screening offensive sets has just been put into place. It seems like they'll call offensive fouls more readily on guys who hook and grab while screening, but they still refuse to address the elephant in the room of NBA players not knowing how to set legal screens
LeBron's NBA Cup MVP is more valuable than either of KD's Finals MVPs. This is the word of the Lord

This preseason has been such a full fest.
NBA, take it from the NFL, DO NOT MICROMANAGE. The last thing I want is constant stoppage in play

You don’t think GSW fans could possibly have been slightly triggered by the thread title?.
I am a GSW fan who actually would not proclaim deep faith in the integrity of those who run the NBA in almost any circumstance, and am fairly indifferent to the rule change, although I consider some of the pictures of Steph Curry in this thread to resemble the result of a cat fight more than “tough” defense in an NBA game.
We will see how it all works anyway, the rule touted as the anti-Harden rule before a recent season (? last season) seemed to have little impact and is little discussed now.

It’s to counteract moving screens which we all know won’t be addressed.
Another rule in favour of offense. So now defenders can’t grab and got to do deal with moving screens all game to free up shooters.
This does favour the offense, but holding has never been a counteract on moving screen. Teams use moving screens on pick & roll situations as well and in those situations you can't hold the ball handler. You will get called a foul. So teams playing lot pick & rolls have had the benefit of moving screens and other team unable to hold your stars as much they want.
Would I like to see refs start calling moving screens? Yes, I would, but every team does moving screens, so it has never given any team any advantage. But situation where you can't touch the ball handler, but can hold as much you want off the ball players have given clear advantage to teams that play lot of ISO and P&R. So in the end this just moves team oriented offenses on the same starting line where ISO or p&r offenses all ready were.
I do understand why people hate that this rule is removed, because it does help team offense to become better, so team playing without ball movement does lose their ground against team oriented offense. This means players like Harden, Westbrook and Lebron loses little bit their ground against GSW, but maybe GSW biggest opponents will be Utah or Boston, who both have ball movement more. **start of sarkasm** And maybe they add this rule because Lebron's Lakers start to play with ball movement and Lebron wanted to make his life easier and thus asked NBA to add this rule. **end of sarkasm**

Hand checking sure, but I actually dont like this tbh. It would be like banning the shoulder to shoulder rule in soccer nearly impossible to stop guys at that point

Kerr could have run a fairly unstoppable Durant/Curry pick and roll every play but seemed to consider same ideologically unsound.

Call moving screens then for gods sake. Literally the warriors bread and butter especially in the 2016 WCF. This rule literally makes it easier for them score great job for the competition lmao.

Maybe he could have, but is that really what fans want? That rules would force all teams to play pick & rolls and nothing else? Would you be happy, if you go to shop and only beer you could buy is Bud light? This chance gives teams more options how they
could build their offense, so everyone should be happy. More options does enrich the game and more options does enrich your life in beer section because you can buy different beers.

That was rather my point. I think Kerr has deliberately chosen what he considers to be a better way, certainly for team harmony and whole team involvement but probably also because he believes that basketball is better played that way.

The NBA also needs to do something about illegal screens. Someone needs to say that again and again.

He's practicing. It's been a whole summer without whining about the unfairness of it all and without the bragging, so it's time for GSW warrior fans to get in regular season form.
