Where is this from? I have a hard time believing that.

I have to laugh at all these Heat leaks this week saying, “This is our final offer! No really, we mean it this time!”

Get your house in order.

Let's flip it. Say Butler is on your squad right now in Miami. Give me two trades you would do from around the league. Any team.
I would like to get a feeling for what you think is fair league wide.

His value is whatever teams are willing to offer at the time you seek to trade him. No greater; no less.

Or the value of just keeping him.

Anyone have a guess to who that player is? Probably one of his teammates that he's been texting and having dinner with.

Lets hope he doesn't get hurt in practice.
I don't understand the reason for this.
Anyone?

None of us know with 100% certainty what's going with the Timberwolves. The only real clue we have was the knuckleheaded comment from Wiggin's brother when Butler requested the trade. That might have gave us a bit of inside of information on how Wiggins is feeling about playing with Butler.

Now, someone I trust provided me with some information on a conversation he had with a family member of one of the players. Unfortunately or fortunately, I'm not a gossiper when it comes to the personal lives of people, but I can definitely see it being an issue among the team.

Having said that, relationships can heal, but for that to happen, you have to have conversations about the issues that exists and maybe this is what Thibs is trying to do by having Butler present at practice. Put all of their differences on the table and decide how to move forward. We all have issues with family members and co-workers, but seldom do we leave family or work when those issues arise, this is no different for the Timberwolves. Face it, and hopefully move past it to the point of healing and who knows. Jimmy is still the better option of anything we could possibly get in a trade.

Because a trade request doesn't mean a player is just going to sit at home twiddling his thumbs until he is traded. He's still a member of the team until he isn't.

Klomp, weren't you of those of those fans that said Jimmy would never play in a Timberwolves jersey again (because Taylor wouldn't let it happen)?

Jimmy is a member of our team is the reason. Do you need more reason than that?

I agree that it’s risky, for injury and for personality conflicts. However, it appears to be worth the risk, if Thibs said:

“Listen Jimmy. I’m trying to trade you, but you’ve tanked your trade value this summer with rumors of unprofessionalism, and the lingering hand injury. If you want off the team, the only place you’re going to raise your trade value is on the court.”

I agree that it’s risky, for injury and for personality conflicts. However, it appears to be worth the risk for all involved, if Thibs says,

Are we going to gain time or lose time with this move? What if other teams will wait too? What if Butler wants to sign a 5yrs deal with us, but does not want to play for us? Once you give him that contract there is no leverage at him.

Because a trade request doesn't mean a player is just going to sit at home twiddling his thumbs until he is traded. He's still a member of the team until he isn't.

He sure did the last three weeks. What's changed now?
