Jimmy's answer to that question is a crock of pre-written bull if we're being honest. Guaranteed that is a pre-written script by a PR person to attempt to paint him in the best light possible.

I love that he came into practice and challenged everyone, he's right the team does need him if they want to compete this season. He's a top player in the league and our next best players are still young and developing and haven't been shown the fire they need to have to win.

The issue lies in not in his passion for the game or anything like that, but in his lack of ability to lead players that need to be lead like he was brought in to do. He has handled himself like a child throughout this ordeal.

Correct. He's excellent as a player. He's a terrible, terrible, terrible leader and Thibs has no willingness or leverage to reel him in.

From how I took it when he was talking about water, hesitiation, and fruit punch - it was a maximum contract. Yes/No from Layden/Taylor Hesitiation.

Why would it be amazing, once they heard he was going to be at practice ESPN puts her on a plane? It's going to be a pretty big story. I think we all knew either he was going to have an injury or surgery to be out or go back to practice pretty soon.

It’s only big news because Jimmy Butler was having a temper tantrum. If he practices, says nothing at all to anyone, ESPN would never fly out a reporter for that.

Yes they would, it's a big story, there's a number of fans from big markets highly interested in the Butler situation in hopes of landing him. It's a bigger story then just for the Minnesota fans.

What does ESPN get out of this if it's not a big story?

Yikes.

I thought it was a "heat of the moment" thing that Jimmy did today, but after seeing this interview with ESPN, this all just looks so scripted and corny.

After Jimmy is gone, Thibs needs to go right after, Layden too for being bitch made

As long as practices aren't being destroyed, I say keep bringing him in. Let him go at it. Keep team building and talking on the phone for deals. Just something you got to go through. Either you find a good deal, hope that somehow the team bonds over this and Butler wants to come back, or you make a hard choice come deadline time.

If this is a money issue with Jimmy why don't they just dump Dieng with a protected 1st and pay the man? 5yrs/$175M effective immediately.

Exactly but Layden may be too stubborn to get rid of Dieng, Patton and a first.

Why would you come in to practice and scream "You need me" at the guy you want to TRADE you? That's just weird.

Screaming from the top of his lungs, Butler uttered taunts at his teammates such as “They ain’t [expletive]!” and “They soft!”, league sources said. Most of the players knew the invectives were directed at Towns and Wiggins, league sources said.

At one point, Butler found himself guarding Towns in the post and when the big man received the entry pass, Butler yelled, “He can’t do [expletive] against me!” and Towns ended up kicking the ball out, league sources said.

Some players were motivated by Butler’s theatrics, but others were distraught and speechless, and most notably Towns, league sources said.

When practice concluded, Butler stormed out of the facility without stretching with the rest of his teammates, league sources said. However, before he departed, Wiggins gave him a hand dap, league sources said.

Towns then huddled the players up with a message centered on everyone keeping their emotions in check, league sources said. But according to some of the players, the message was empty.

Because Jimmy's agent thought it sounded cool when he wrote up Woj's tweet.

How far off? Jimmy's already making $20M this year and he wants $31M.
