Some players were motivated by Butler’s theatrics, but others were distraught and speechless, and most notably Towns, league sources said.

When practice concluded, Butler stormed out of the facility without stretching with the rest of his teammates, league sources said. However, before he departed, Wiggins gave him a hand dap, league sources said.

Towns then huddled the players up with a message centered on everyone keeping their emotions in check, league sources said. But according to some of the players, the message was empty.

KG, do you still think Butler and Towns do not have beef?

Butler showed up to practice late and just subbed himself into the scrimmage on the third team to go against the starting group, league sources said. Throughout the practice, Butler verbally bashed Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins, president of basketball operations/coach Tom Thibodeau and general manager Scott Layden, league sources said. Screaming from the top of his lungs, Butler uttered taunts at his teammates such as “They ain’t [expletive]!” and “They soft!”, league sources said. Most of the players knew the invectives were directed at Towns and Wiggins, league sources said. – via Yahoo! Sports

That’s not enough. They would need to clear more.

How far off? Jimmy's already making $20M this year and he wants $31M.

Moving Dieng doesn’t even get the Wolves below the cap. Maybe Dieng and Wiggins.

They have bird rights. I just figured it was a luxury tax issue.

Not much, if any. Taj has a $14M expiring. Taylor would barely go over luxury.

However this turns out its great PR for Jimmy on these interviews. ESPN is loving it, juicy story for them to prop up the NBA. All in all this is a big success from a media, marketing perspective.

Taj is Butler's boy, though. That wouldn't go over well.

You show me anywhere I said they didn't. I posted a video of Towns claiming they had no issues and said my best guess was that Towns was lying.

Even better if it drives up the price for Butler. You gotta know this is the type of player Pat Riley loves.

If I were a Wolves fan, I think I'd be thankful to Jimmy. Stuff like this can really light a fire under Towns/Wiggins. If it doesn't, those two are hopeless.

Stan Gundy says with the offers for Jimmy right now being mediocre, the Wolves will try to make this work. Trade later a possibility? Sure, but it'd have to be good value coming back. Jimmy is too darn of a great player to not keep him right now. Stay tuned.

Why would it be amazing, once they heard he was going to be at practice ESPN puts her on a plane? It's going to be a pretty big story. I think we all knew either he was going to have an injury or surgery to be out or go back to practice pretty soon.

Welp, ESPN has said you are wrong. Butler's camp called ESPN and said they wanted an interview. Then everything was set up for today, THEN Jimmy had his spontaneous outpouring of emotions and passion at practice. Then he had the interview about the spontaneous outpouring of passion.

Even with him being able to opt out next year, he's worth more then what's reportedly being offered to Minnesota. You don't give up an all-nba player for a solid value solid player and what would be a 20 something draft pick.

Knowing Thibs he probably loved it. He's probably high right now off the intensity fumes. KAT seems like he may be uncomfortable, distressed as he is not used to this. Wiggins is probably just chill as hell like he always is and is like meh, practice was practice.
