It's also situational for Dieng, had Taj not been brought in for more defense Dieng would have more time and would be putting up better numbers. His numbers per minute weren't really that far off from his career numbers, it was just his minutes were done. Gorgui's a solid player, Taj is just a better defender which the starters were lacking.

I this point I don't think anything would surprised me anymore. I'll flat out believe any rumour about this whole situation.

Jimmy takes a **** at Thibs desk before he beats up Tolliver who was just an innocent bystander? ok, I could totally see this happen.

There are two Wolves teams starting this season? the official Wolves around Wiggins and KAT and the roque Wolves around Jimmy who also reveals himself as a Sith Lord? hm, sounds reasonable

So you call everything Butler did today respect?

Could he of come across in a different tone? Sure. Respect the quieter players, and the outspoken. But If I'm building an army, I want my Lieutenant and General to be strong on me, point out my flaws and be hard on me. Tougher the nails the better! It would only bring out the best in ME. I wouldn't want a soft "do your job" and go home leader. That would indicate you just don't care about your soldiers. It might work for others, but it wouldn't work for ME. There are 7.6 billion people in the world and every single personality is different, every face is different, every fingerprint is different. Players respond to different messages because they walked different paths in life. It's a matter of respect at the end of the day. Butler walked through a rough childhood, and has worked his @SS off to get to where he is today. I'm glad he's hard on our players. HE SHOULD BE because our players are soft as CHIT. Excuse me for my language, but if someone wants to keep quiet and stay within the "status quo" of politically correct in the NBA, go ahead. But that's not the type of players I would want on my team. I want WINNERS I want TOUGHNESS. I want want PASSION. I want COMMUNICATION. I want a player that isn't afraid to say something even if your the only PERSON WHO HAS THEIR HAND UP ON THE TEAM - because YOU believe it's true. Was everything respectful? Of course not. But he's not afraid to say what he really believes and I highly respect that.

I wonder.....was there a single coach or a trainer at the meeting, which could explain why some are calling it players-only and some are not?

Or did the meeting even happen at all?

This all appear to be a major fiasco IF you do not like controversy. Media loves it and they love to fuel it with assumptions and angles that keep it stoked.

I like some radicalism, but there are lines in the sand where it can become personal for some. Kobe and Shaq fued was ongoing but they won a title, so it's not like it's beyond repair by any stretch. No franchise wants to deal with these issues, but there is a ton of drama out there no matter how you slice it.

NO ONE can argue the fact we need more "team" intensity to take it another step forward. First the players need to commit individually, then prove to each other that they are willing and able to raise the bar mentally and physically. if there are doubts, you have locker room issues - period. The team has been called out publicly - I expect a positive response short-term ... long-term is up to Wiggins and KAT in my opinion.

Thibs fan, I like Butler too though. I have this thing about watching games where teams/players look like they want to win.

Maybe Jimmy was standing at the doorway, blocking Wiggins, yelling, “You don’t get in! You ain’t no player!”

And Doogie mentioned, this whole fiasco makes regular news seem boring and get overlooked.

How about a worse case of tampering than Magic Johnson?

Is it true Patton was on Butler's squad when going against starters? If so this is great news, he might be ready at some point this season. I haven't seen anyone talk about this, If Karl's top potential is a 99, Patton's may not be too far away...

I have a feeling Karma is going to catch up to Big Mouth Butler (New name?) But the Wolves will ultimately pay for it.

Wouldn't that be kind of stupid ? Jimmy needs to play with the guys he is going to be out there with when the season starts if he's staying. Thing is, Jimmy would do it just to prove a point. That team is obviously better than the Wolves best lineup without Jimmy since he beat them down and "ran the table on them". Jimmy might actually be able to do better with that group than with the regulars, just for the reason that he might get a better effort out of them. At least they will try on both ends.

I'll bet you this much. In one of Jimmy recent meetings with Thibs, Thibs probably told him that he needed to meet with the players only and see if they were willing to work with him and try to compete this year. To see if he could get KAT to agree to play with him. He probably said... "look guys when I was healthy we were on a 54 win pace and would have been 3rd seed in the Western Conference, I think we can better than that. Let's put aside our differences and everybody get on the same page and let's go out there and surprise everyone". Thibs likely told him that Towns said he wouldn't sign his extension and he didn't want to play with Jimmy and that that was the guy he had to convince since he is obviously the next best player on the team next to Jimmy.

If Towns buys in and he actually gets a fire lit, the Wolves could be very very dangerous. Especially with the rookie Okogie, who I know will put in the effort and work and be a great defensive player. In fact, I start the rookieJosh at the 2 and Jimmy at the 3. Make Wiggins the 6th man and let him come off the bench and shoot as much as he wants. That will never happen because of politics, but I think it would be the best way for the Wolves to set up the rotation. Start Teague, Okogie, Jimmy, Taj and KAT. and then have Tyus, Rose, Wiggins, KBD and Dieng. That is a solid rotation and you mix in Tolliver and Luol as 10-15 MPG guys. I know everyone will say..."that's crazy, you can't bench Wiggins"... but he could be the NBA 6th Man of the Year in a role like that. Still get the same amount of minutes as he would starting but just feast on 2nd units. It's kind of the same thing I want the Bulls to do with Jabari.

When is Patton supposed to be back? Is he out for the season of is there a chance he can play at least half the season. That sucks that he's hurt again. I really liked what I saw from him in the G League last season. If he ever gets healthy, he's going to be a very good player.
