Also, regardless of where any of you stand in this Butler situation, you can't tell me this isn't highly unprofessional and egocentric. All he is really doing is making people not like him. What happened to being a good teammate?

Let’s make a list, that way when jimmy is kicking ass you’ll be forced to apologize on record when this team is cruising in 3rd or 4th and arguably playin the best basketball in Timberwolves history. I’m going to set the list up and make a thread soon.

Team “Jimmy Is The Devil”:
Minimus
MPLSFONZ33
Klomp
Domejandro
Shrink
Mercgold3

Team “Big 3 for 2nd - 4th place”:
WalkWithMe
KGdaBom
Johnnyvann840
D1SGTUNTL3D

Team “not sure yet”:
Calilinks

Mod Edit: I am pretty sure you are halfway joking but lets refrain from labeling posters who disagree with Jimmy's actions as sissies.

Walk with Me we have been in sink on Butler and Thibs, but we depart a bit here. What Butler did yesterday was absolutely inappropriate IMO in every way. First he calls ESPN in. That was wrong. Then he has a choreographed/orchestrated temper tantrum at practice and is a complete Ahole to his teammates and management. If he is pissed off about his contract the Wolves really had no option to renegotiate his contract this year. As long as they are willing to max him next year he should have no beef with the team. To me his presentation yesterday was him trying to force the team to trade him rather than honor his contract. It's fine for Jimmy to request a trade. It's not fine for him to do what he did yesterday to force one. I lost so much respect for him yesterday, mostly because it was a prearranged staged event. I could forgive easier if it was just an emotional outburst. Now today maybe he is trying to make amends. I'm ok with second chances also. I can still forgive him and hope he remains with the team, but if he remains with the team while continuing to act like a total Dick he will have pushed me too far where I would rather lose without him than win with him. HE WENT WAY TOO FAR.

Lost respect but I know you don’t want him traded for a junk package. In a week nobody will care about the espn segment.

You are correct. I don't want him traded for garbage.

Butler lacks tact but he isn’t wrong.

He is upset with management and ownership. Thinks they aren’t in it to “win”.
He may think Kay and Wiggs lack fire, but they are who they are, that again is on management and ownership paying those guys.
So he’s right. Ownership and management are not serious about winning if your focus is to built around and waste cap on players who aren’t willing to go balls to the wall.

Should have traded Wiggins , that’s on the owner. And, in my opinion Kat is vastly overrated. Offense is pretty defense is dirty. People always like pretty things, but dirty work makes the world go ‘round.

Jimmy however needs a better PR manager. This stuff is making him look just as much of a loser as our owner.

So what is making me a “boy scout and not a Wolves fan?”

I am just tired of all the fans that have their panties in a bunch because Butler came in and yelled in a couple people's faces.

So what? A decade and a half of watching boy scouts with pure souls like Wes Johnson and Derrick WIlliams lead us to the 14th seed, and I am sick of it. SICK OF IT.

As far as I am concerned, this franchise needs more unhinged and crazy people like Thibs and Butler, if it means we win consistently like last year.

If you don't like that, then catch a dvd and watch any of our last 14 years of boy scout teams

Id rather have the sane good players who don’t leak to the media when they don’t get their way 150%. There is a middle ground. How are other teams somehow able to put together a team that gets along great despite the FO not babying their star. If we have such low standards this garbage is just going to keep on happening with a revolving door of bad players and crazy players.

Yea just multiple season ticket holder and Wolves forum poster for longer and more often than you.

You got triggered because I criticize Butler and point out that Air P isn’t actually a Wolves fan.

Butler and Thibs are here to stay and will lead us to a 2nd seed this year.

Enjoy or go root for the Gophers

We were 8th seed barely and almost every team besides ours and the Rockets got stronger this year. I don't know what you are talking about. Just because we were third seed for like a game or two doesn't matter. End results do.

Enjoy rooting in denial.

It’s one thing if this is confined to practice among players who want to be here. But neither of those are true. I can deal with guys being competitive as long as guys are bickering at each other through the media.

If Butler is still on the team at the home opener, he’s gonna get booed pretty hard, right?

Not here there isn't, have seen this POS franchises history? Other than KG, just a bunch of boy scouts that went to the lottery every year. I don't care if they hate eachother, just win.

We never had Markkanen so we can't have him back and I'm not interested in LaVine or Dunn. Give me Harris, Richardson, or Porter.

idk man, Lavine's been looking pretty damn good and Dunn would have offered some much needed defense but hindsight is 20/20 I guess

Funny that a few people keep bringing up the 8th seed but fail to mention that it was because the teams sucked so bad without Butler that they were on 33 win pace when he was out and with him they were on a 54 win pace. That's some serious impact. Not to mention when he was on the floor the offense of the Wolves was the #1 ranked in the entire NBA and the defense climbed over half the league to go from last to 14th.

I agree that this stuff should have been kept in house but if any of you think it's all peaches and cream on any title winning teams you are delusional. Hell, after the Warriors won this last title David West said that behind the scenes there was so much infighting and dysfunction going on in the locker room that we would all be "shocked when the truth comes out". So, there's that.
