Important to see Cain hitting again so there are baserunners for Yelich this series.

CC has always hated pitching him on back to back days. I always figured he would be down for game 2 either way. Maybe they are trying to save Knebel? Who knows we 'may' be able to save JJ as well in this game.

He just did so in the NLDS. Being able to bring him in for a batter or two would be nice.

I think that break did Cain some good, although Yelich is struggling a bit this game

Story may be different if we open up the lead even more, but I guess you can weigh Soria/Knebel/etc. being more fresh to go longer for tomorrow against Hader maybe being available for a short stint. Could go either way on this one.

Hell, it's the playoffs. Maybe they still justify throwing Hader for 10 pitches tomorrow after he goes 3 tonight if it means we are going to go up 2-0.

I wish Smoltz would shut up about bullpen issues in a long series.

Missing a few good opportunities to add on here. Any game that can potentially be tied with one swing is still frightening to me.

Agreed. That rant that went like: "If this doesn't go absolutely perfectly it's going to be highly questioned..." It was nauseating. Like, hey, John: Every starting pitcher ever went 7 ip scoreless with 10 k's.

Hard to complain about being up 5-1 but I wish we could get a couple more of these runs in. Also hopefully Yelich hasn’t come back to Earth. 0-3 with 2k’s is not encouraging for how he was doing but hey at least we got some key hits from others like Cain, Braun, Santana, Arica, and Pina so I guess what the hell am I complaining about.

He cannot **** stand that we're having success with this strategy. It's beautiful.

Muncy and Turner very well could have played Gimli in Lord of the Rings. Not exactly what the ladies call 'lookers'.

There's no real reason Hader should be throwing this many pitches in Game 1 imo.

Kinda surprised Hader's been left in this long tbh.

Yeah they left Hader in too long but got away with it. It probably saved another pitcher but I'm not sure that's much of a payoff when Hader threw the most pitches he has all season.

I'm just going on record: I'm done questioning CC. I've done it way too much this season. I'm taking house money and betting he knows his staff and he and upstairs are all on the same page. Sure it won't work out every time. But, I want the WS more than anything. I'm done being a whiny bitch about each and every decision. There. I said it.

Hopefully he'll be ready on Monday.

Hopefully Jeffress pitches OK. His control can be off with so many days between outing
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Hader looked gettable the longer he went. Should keep him to two unless of an emergency.
