What's up guys? I'd appreciate a little bit of help here. I have Ariza on my fantasy team but I need one more forward. Is Ryan Anderson going to start for you or get meaningful minutes?

I think he will start...not sure about meaningful minutes...strange thread to put this in.

I had him last year and he was worthless unless you desperately need 3s but he adds nothing else...low overall FG%, probably not many rebounds, no assists, steals, blocks...not many points.

Who else is available and what do you feel are your weakest categories?

You might look at one of our draft threads....or both....(not the dynasty one) but the premier and then G league ones...the entire draft is like in the 2nd post of both. They are probably near the bottom of this page or on top of the next one.

If your league has less than 13 teams you can scroll near the bottom of the draft and the later rounds to see who our participants took. We have been playing a long time and it is very competitive and people are very knowledgeable...particularly in premier, but also in g league. The drafts are probably fairly similar.

Here is another good resource...may one to click on top 200 (instead of 100) and unclick turnovers if it isn't a category. https://hashtagbasketball.com/fantasy-basketball-rankings

Gonna piggyback and say in other leagues I participate in I’ve placed first twice and 3rd. Would have won all three years but injuries killed me during the playoffs of an H2H league. Seriously feel like we got some very very knowledgeable fantasy gurus in our leagues.

Would probably look into dropping Ariza as well. Don’t think he’s putting up top 100 value and he has very little upside too.

Thanks for the detailed breakdown.

12 team league, 9 categories. We don't use turnovers, instead we split rebounds between offensive and defensive (Ryan's value might be a little higher here because he's a good offensive rebounder).

I like to have 3 players from each position and I only have 1 Power Forward right now (Draymond Green). I'm hoping Ariza also gets PF eligibility in the near future. Available PFs are guys like DeMarre Carroll, Ersan Ilyasova, JaMychal Green, Dirk, Crowder, Aminu, Marvin Williams, Nance Jr...

My strategy is to win assists, steals, blocks, threes, ft% and offensive rebounds. My weakest of those are 3s and offensive rebounds

Here's my entire team:

PG: Trae Young, Jeff Teague, Kris Dunn
Wings: Batum, Ingles, LeVert, Danny Green, Ariza
Bigs: Draymond, Jarrett Allen, Steven Adams, Brook Lopez, Alex Len (the guy I'll be dropping)

I think Nance Jr is a no brainer pick up. And after that Favors or James Johnson if there. I can't believe Nance Jr is available. I'd take him over either Ariza or Anderson.

Is that a dynasty league? Trying to figure out who you drafted initially. If so I’d maybe consider holding Alex Len as he’s played fairly well in preseason. Marvin Williams might have a bounce back season with Howard gone, could you potentially have top 70-80 value. BW mentioned Favors and if he’s available I’d take him since he’s in a contract year.

We play with 3 keepers for each team. My keepers were pretty unspectacular but decent for a team built around assists and steals+blocks. Draymond Green, Kris Dunn & Jarrett Allen

Then this was the order of my picks

1. Trae Young with the 2nd overall pick. Huge reach in most people's eyes but I believe in him for the present and future
2. Joe Ingles
3. Jeff Teague
4. Nicolas Batum
5. Steven Adams
6. Brook Lopez
7. Caris LeVert
8. Danny Green
9. Alex Len (didn't realize Thad Young was still available)
10. Trevor Ariza, who I think is a great pick at this spot. Basically 80% of Robert Covington who was taken pretty high

Favors, James Johnson and most those other guys were drafted. Right now I claimed 3 waivers in this order

1. Sign DeMarre Carroll, drop Len
2. Sign Ryan Anderson, drop Len
3. Sign Ersan Ilyasova, drop Len

I'm looking for 3s & offensive rebounds. If I get steals & blocks it's a bonus

Edit: I'm keeping an eye on Moritz Wagner who is listed as a PF and could be a nice contributor for the Lakers, but he's currently injured and has to earn his spot

Wouldn't put it past the new front office. I do lean towards the coaching staff acknowledging how important JJ's success is tied to our success so they were likely trying to get him reps and allowing him to work through things
