As of today, Oct 17th, 2018, weed is officially legal across all of Canada.

Will this have an influence on FA decisions when considering signing in Toronto?

No, it's legal in various US states as well. It is still barred by the private organization that is the NBA.

I doubt that most NBA players have a tough time finding weed whether they are playing in a legal state or not. I'm jealous though. I live in Texas currently. :cry:

I doubt it. It's been legal in Colorado for awhile now and I haven't seen any change in their attractiveness to FAs even when they were the only one. it's also legal in California, Oregon, and Massachusetts. Times are changing fast so it won't be long until there are more NBA markets added to the list.

Nine states (Nevada, California, Colorado, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Maine) and Washington, DC, have legalized marijuana for recreational use. Only a matter of time it's legalized nationally.

And Nevada as well.

There's a major difference between being legal at the state/provincial level vs legal at the federal level.

In Canada it is legal, country wide. You can travel and board planes with up to 30 grams of weed. You can even have it delivered via Canada Post. Try doing any of that in the US and see what happens if it's discovered.

As for how much of an impact it'll have on free agency, who knows. Winning & $$$ have the biggest impact over anything else.
