Pistons dump Hearn, Sign Lofton to 2 way contract
Obviously not a needle moving transaction, but I like it. Lofton has already shown oodles more upside than Hearn ever did.

I get cutting Hearn, but why Lofton? We could use a big on our second 2-way. I really don't get the appeal of Lofton, I mean he wasn't highly recruit out of HS who went wrong - he's a 26 yr old rookie who went to give colleges in five years because of attitude issues.

Cause it’s a two way which are hard enough to get decent players out of as it is. He probably won’t play but at least he looks to be a capable scorer if ever needed in a hurry.

Lofton deserved the deal but I agree, we need Bigs, even if we need bigs I cant blame anyone for giving Lofton a chance, like I said, he deserved it, he played really well for us in pre season, he is capable enough to be in the league.

Re: Pistons dump Hearn, Sign Lofton to 2 way contract
Definitely need bigs, but if you are trying to fill roster holes with 2 way contracts then you are up sh** creek anyways. Which is why I didn't like the GR3 signing. Needed to go after a 3/4 type WAY more than a 2/3 type. They also decided to get rid of a highly mobile defensive minded big who can play the 4/5 and was cheap, but that's a whole other story.
Anyways, Lofton has shown more than enough to earn the 2 way contract. Again, position shouldn't really be much of a factor when deciding who to give 2 ways to. Tangible production and potential upside should be the biggest determining factors. Lofton has a chance to stick around awhile and possibly make an impact with the varsity club. Honestly, I can foresee Lofton stepping into the Galloway role next season, only for MUCH cheaper.
