Sportsbooks have us between 38-39 wins depending on where u look. We won 39 last year which put us 9th in the east. With Lebron out of town we should be able to move into that 8 spot if we can hit that 39 wins again. It will be tough but we should make it.

I look at it this way...are the Pistons a "bad" team? No. They have enough talent to beat plenty of teams. But making the playoffs requires health (not the Pistons' forte), consistency (also not the Pistons' forte) and in today's NBA of small ball, dependable wings and outside shooters (absolutely not the Pistons' forte).

With a true center and power forward without a dependable outside shot, this is a team built for 2004, not 2018.

All true, but I still think we're a playoff team. If we're not, that means at least one of Cleveland, Charlotte, Orlando, Brooklyn, New York, Chicago or Atlanta finishes ahead of us. Those teams suck. You could argue Cleveland if you think Love thrives again and Lue isn't a mannequin, but I don't see it. The rest are clearly inferior, inexperienced, injured, or all three.

Basically locks: Boston, Philly, Toronto
Very likely: Milwaukee, Indiana
More likely than the Pistons: Washington, Miami

I'm not completely convinced on Miami, but I did vote no. The other six I think are locks, then I think it's Miami/Detroit/Charlotte/Orlando/Cleveland for 7th and 8th. My best guess - Charlotte and Miami.

It’s early to say, but absent compelling reasons otherwise that’s my vote.

It's so **** hilarious that in picking up the regularly injured Griffin's contract, the organization denied itself the ability to get significant depth in case of injuries. This after two seasons with an injured starting point guard.

We are currently one of the three remaining unbeaten goliaths of the Eastern Conference. It's been an amazing season thus far, but we're going to have to step up our game because we have a target on our back now.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.
