If Jimmy plays hard and looks dominant & Miami struggles out the gate, I can see them giving a good offer for Jimmy that isn't Richardson + Waiters..

Those two things have to happen though, if Miami is killing it for the first few months, they might not even answer the phone if Layden calls

Hopefully Miami deal is just dead. Their best offer is still extremely meh. Philly needs to make a move.

I respect your opinion as much as any other poster on here but is it really that hard to believe that Taylor didn't want to commit $190M to a player that will be 34 years old at the end of his contract? That's $86M for Wiggy, KAT and Butler alone for 19/20...it's a feasible argument not that any of us would know.

Considering he was willing to pay Shabazz and Gorgui 25+ million for their production and well as expected contracts to Wiggins, KAT, and LaVine, I’m doubting he was pulling cheapskate for the first winner he has had in over a decade. And if this is the case then...

KGdaBom wrote:If we weren't intending to max Jimmy we never should have traded for him. Top 10 players get maxed.

This is the same owner who luckily got turned down by Spree for that ridiculous contract offer. The same owner who always paid KG top dollar.

Spree was nothing special in the Wolves one great season. It was all about KG and Sam. I'm convinced that if Sam didn't get injured for the Lakers series we would have won it all.

I don't think Glen's comments necessarily mean he wasn't willing to pay Jimmy. Making changes to the team could refer to shifting other salary like Dieng for example. However, whatever the reason is it doesn't excuse the way Jimmy went about this.

RoCo and Saric and it's all good. Or that Butler for Simmons idea that Thibs had.

I doubt Riley will give in even if we have a rough start. He knows we arent winning with or without Jimmy this season. He will likely play it out and find other moves to make.

It is better for Jimmy to start this season with MIN with 10-0 record and get traded in a strong team. I still think TOR, PHI can make a decent offer.

I'm not sure why Phoenix hasn't at least made an offer. I'd do something like this:

Wolves get-
Tyson Chandler (expiring) or TJ Warren
Mikal Bridges or Josh Jackson
2019 Bucks pick, 2020 Suns pick (top 5 protected)

So you can either have an expiring contract/mentor in Tyson Chandler, or have Warren as a 20 points per game scorer. I don't think Warren/Wiggins is a very good combo since they both aren't very good three point shooters, but Warren is a good slasher, and would be effective with KAT in the post.
Bridges or Jackson. Really depends who the Wolves want and if the Suns are willing to give either one of them up. No way they agree to trade both of them for an expiring contract.
Two picks, I know the Bucks pick won't be very good, and the Suns 2020 pick may not be that good either depending if they retained Butler and what they did in free agency in 2019 too. To me, it seems like a better package than what Miami offered, but what do you guys think? Really don't have much else to offer, unless you want an expiring Troy Daniels.

Deal! I've read that PHO owner likes Butler's game.

I'd do it. Most other Suns fans want to continue growing organically and I guess in a way tank one more year. I'd prefer we get some pieces around Booker now, since this could be a big year for him.

I feel like jackson seems like a bust but he probably just needs a change of scenery. Maybe send bender instead of melton lol to see if he needs a change of scenery too.
Phoenix totally becomes a playoff team with Jimmy.

In the Western conference?!?

It would be kind of funny as Jamal turned down more money just to get away from Jimmy and then this happens. He was probably waiting as long as he could for Jimmy to land someplace but just couldn't wait any longer.

I don't think Jackson is a bust at all, and this is only his 2nd season coming up. I just don't like his fit with his inability to shoot 3's. He played very well after the all-star game last year, though he was inefficient.

Robert Covington + Landry Shamet + 2019 FRP
OR Robert Covington + Dario Saric

Norman Powell + OG Anunoby

Keep an eye out on Shamet's performance, he's a rookie 6-5 athletic combo guard that can shoot

How do you know it was from Butler and not from Thibodeou?

Taylor Interviewed:
http://www.startribune.com/glen-taylor-wolves-working-to-trade-butler-thibodeau-s-job-safe/497734421/

Taylor was asked to assess how Tom Thibodeau, the Wolves coach and president of basketball operations, has handled the Butler situation.

“Well, I’m OK with it,” Taylor said. “Initially, when Butler told [Thibodeau] he wanted to leave, you know Tom did everything he could to try to keep Jimmy here and I understand that. They have a close relationship.

“Thibs brought him here so that he would stay here. But eventually I think that in listening to Jimmy, Thibs and I are lined up on this. We need to be looking at a trade

This franchise is a dumpster fire. KG can be wrong sometimes, but Taylor doesn't know anything about basketball. How you are OK with your GM holding a disgruntled player asking for a trade just to throw under the bus your own players and risk to no get anything in return?

Taylor is with Thibs on this. They probably planned everything along the way. It's really disgusting. I wouldn't blame Towns if he already decided he is going out as soon as he can. What a joke.

Brandon Ingram needs to be our target the second we can get the Lakers to package salary. My hopes are that the Lakers are struggling just enough out of the gate that they get desperate to land another star next to Lebron, and would be able to make a deal around that Dec 15th point. Wiggins, Ingram, Towns would set up nicely as a big 3. Yes, I said Wiggins. I still think he is going to turn the corner, but as a 2 guard, not a sf.
