It always seemed like they were far more interested in the free sodas at the press room and playing on their phones during the game in eras when there were all sorts of story angles to investigate and write about.

That said, for the legit reporter, being back up there is a loss as it relates to coverage. You learn a lot about team dynamics by sitting near the opponents bench during a game. You also see a much different game from the floor.

Where do other teams reporters sit?

Same place. Why do you think they have a different spot?

Does that mean other teams don't have "legit reporters"? Because you learn a lot about team dynamics sitting near the opponents bench. Or so I've heard.

I understand the sarcastic rip so let me try to unpack this.

A) Sitting on or next to the floor gives any reporter (or fan) a much better sense of game flow and inter player dynamics than sitting way up in a press box.

B) If I did regular Bucks/NBA coverage I would love to sit behind the opponents bench. Gives you a lot of insight into player and coach personalities and in game stuff for each team. Bucks bench would be good also, but presumably I’d get that Bucks insight in the locker room and traveling with the team.

C) Had a decade of experience watching our “press row” areas at the BC. As I said, most of the time those folks were going back and forth to the free food area, socializing with other reporters or playing on their phones. You’d rarely see people taking serious notes. More relevant the work product for all of us fans was certainly missing for that decade.

For a lot of those people, the new media placement at Fiserv is going to be a downer for them. For us? Probably won’t matter much except that a guy like Steve Aschburner who did report on a lot of on/off court game dynamics will be at a disadvantage.

Anyone going to Fleetwood Mac?

Or really, anyone catch a show yet? If so, any section/row recommendations would be welcome.

I'll be at Foo Fighters Wednesday night (opposite Brewers/Bucks, oh well). I have pretty good side seats in 107, I'll post my thoughts after

I remember for awhile the media was put at the top of section 215, I would see Enlund sleeping during games.

Wi-Fi spotty at best tonight. Foo Fighters coming on soon. Opening band sound sucked but openers don't get good mixes. Entire floor is pit, no seats. And it's packed. Concourse crazy crowded. I'll report sound quality after the show.

Hard to say anything about the acoustics vs. the BC because the Foo Fighters are **** loud. Great show. Dave Grohl is the preeminent front man. 2.75 hours. Good fun. I didn't use Wi-Fi after the show started but beforehand it kept dropping out for me. Eventually it stayed on. Anything in the lower bowl would be fine for a concert imo. The floor though is not for me. Standing packed like a sardine for 5 hours or so....nope. The whole crowd, at least in the lowers, stood the entire show. But we could see at least.

One other thing. Stopped at the beer garden about an hour before the show to catch some Bucks and Brewers. One huge screen, which was Brewers. Inside the bar area where you get the beer was another smaller tv, also with Brewers. I suppose there will rarely be conflicts like this but it kind of sucked not to be able to watch the Bucks outside the arena.

There are benches, picnic tables actually to sit. They say it's heated but the few heaters they had didn't give off much heat. The beer is served inside a small building adjacent. Too small. Crowded because it was cold outside. Didn't stick around.

Agreed on all fronts. Also the lines to get a drink were ridiculously long outside 104 where my seats were. A good 15-20 minute wait until showtime.

sound quality was pretty awful.

i was embarrassed how muted the crowd sounded...but pretty sure that is also an acoustical issue.

same....stopped there about an hour before Foo took the stage.

they need to put outdoors beer carts there, or portable bars out there...and more heaters.

Foo did not play This is a Call.

Fail.

I would be one of those.

I know they're hardcore Bucks fans, which is great, obviously, but I think it's run its course.

I was over a the Live Block last Friday night. The issue isn't the Live Block itself. The issue is that none of the interior spaces are finished yet. Give it three months and that area will be hopping once they can open up the restaurants and bars. Right now all that's "done" is a big screen TV and small beer stand outside.

Thanks for clarifying. I was wondering how people were going there as I thought it wasn't going to be done until next year.

Season ticket investment already looking to be a complete waste. I should've just cobbled together my own package for peanuts off the secondary market. And TV ticket deals already with the buy an opening night ticket and get the Knicks game or whatever the other game was for free. What a joke.
