They shot 56% from the 3pt line thanks in part to the Mavs sorry 3pt defense.

As Houston showed us last year - live by the 3 and die by the 3.

It's embarrassing how deep the Celtics are both Smart and Rozier would do well for the Sun.'Both talented enough to be long term starters and young enough to grow with the young core.

Booker was out of control amazing. But lets see if this was a fluke or not with him. Dallas has some upside but they're still not good.

The Suns are at least 2 times better than last year. They added Igor and that alone is worth a lot IMO

Suns are headed in the right direction and right now, that's the most important thing. They have two major building blocks, a potential 3rd in JJ, and now they have great vets around them: Chandler, Ariza, and Anderson.

Won't win more than 32 games, but they're on tract to be a strong long time playoff team in the future.

A fluke for Booker? Hes done what he did tonight multiple times in the last few years. Always seems to cook Wesley Matthews especially though lol.

I'm not a huge suns follower, but we're talking about a guy who had a negative RPM last year and was a boarder line starter by RAPM numbers.

I only caught some of tonight's game and I didn't focus on his defense.

Booker however looked absolutely brilliant in his decision making which was more important to me in terms of him than shots going in. That is why I made my comments, though I was jaded by all those shots going in too I'm sure. But anyway context behind what I said/saw. Both good and well me admitting I'm not an expert on booker.

Great game. Ayton clearly is going to be Rookie of the year.
Luka looked eh with sparks. Still think the Suns should have traded for him to make their core. No chance getting ROY award for Ayton.

this must be your first time watching booker  theres a reason they gave him that fat contract, he does this quite often.

advanced stats don't tell the whole story.

Booker and Ayton are the real deal.

But I am not sure our wings (Ariza, JJ, TJ) can be counted on to all have great games consistently. One can only hope.

Josh Jackson will be a protypical wing going forward for you guys. He can guard multiple positions, attack the rim, create some with ball in his hands and shoot a little bit. He can be the glue guy, and Ariza is the perfect vet to teach him if he listens.

Just saying, their lead got cut to 94-90 before the Suns went on that big run to close out the game. Let's wait a bit (not to the OP, but some other posters here) before declaring anything definite on both teams.

Phoenix shot 55% for 3pt.. How likely are they to keep this up? Also Mavs shooting just 31% - also, how likely that all opponents will shoot that low?

It was a nice game, but it felt all game long that if Dallas could pull together 3-4 3pt shots in a row, they'd get ahead and take over the control of the game - sadly all starters had completely off nights (5/21 3pt) when it comes to shooting.

Not trying to take anything away from Phoenix, well deserved win, but it was against a middle of the pack team that had an off-night in terms of shooting and was missing it's best player.

Entertaining to watch anyway and I sure hope Phoenix does well this season :)

The Suns have been a dumpster fire, but things are actually looking bright. I'm really liking the veteran mix, and they have two big time prospects in high impact positions. I know it's a bit premature, but Ayton looks like he might be an Embiid level guy, maybe even better. He actually looks a like he'll be stronger than Embiid down low.

Calm down they played the Mavericks (who played exceptionally bad i must add as well, i don't think they had a single player who actually played well).

I was impressed though for what its worth but even then, its one thing to bully some of the worst teams in the league, its another thing to do it against playoff quality.

Yeah at that point Booker started going ham so they could pull away. He didn't have any impact on getting his team the W though.

If Barnes remains our best player, we are in huge trouble.

The Hornets shot over 50% from 3 as well in their last preseason game against the Mavericks. Their defense is really, really bad. Finney-Smith and Matthews aren't starter quality players and Doncic is a rookie. They'll be better once Barnes comes back, but they're still going to struggle defensively. They need another strong defensive player to replace Matthews.

Teams that can pass and shoot like the Suns are going to do well against them.

Yeah and Orlando were great last season! I mean when they shot over 50% from 3, they were, lol.
