Bet Monk's itching to play. Day-to-day means they'll check in with him, see how he feels.

I always did. Before your return to the board i posted multiple times lamenting your absence.

And you never really took it personally that I pray nightly for a Mack truck to crash through MKG's living room crushing all his bones.

That's terrible...

if that happened it wouldn't have left Clifford much else to do since he loves crushing player's bones so much.

I've been watching some video of Monk and it's striking how few of his shots hit the rim. They're all net more often than not. He really does have a chance to be one of the elite shooters in the league. And unlike a lot of the other great shooters in the league he has the athleticism to be more than that. I can't wait to see JB unleash him this year.

Percy is a joke. He lives in Virginia and doesn't have any sources within the Hornets' organization.

So we don't know whether Monk is playing tonight right? Guessing we should just assume no?

The shot right at the end was most impressive. I hope he just keeps growing as a scorer.

Good first couple games, then all down hill since. Hopefully he isn't another Vonleh (talented, but dumb as rocks)

I still think Monk should have been out there for the final 3 minutes last night. I know he was shooting bricks, but so was everyone else, and he and Kemba are the only two guys on our roster who I feel can catch fire in an instant if they see one fall. At minimum I think his young legs would give us a chance at some lucky shots.

Cliff did a number on the kid, I'm afraid. He needed to work his kinks out last year in a SG role, but instead he was told to learn PG because reasons and this is basically his rookie season

I agree. Although the stats might not back it up, Monk is probably our most dangerous shooter and scorer after Kemba. He should be on the floor to close out games regardless if his shot was falling earlier in the game. You got to show more confidence in your players. They pick up on stuff like this.

Monk will have his chances to do that. He's already had minutes in crunch time this season, but he was awful and ice-cold yesterday. It's not like he's a great playmaker or a plus defender at this point. I don't mind him sitting down the stretch in that one. What was he, 1-9? He's not bringing much to the table on a night like that. That's not something I'd criticize Borrego over one way or the other. Monk still has some work to do before he becomes a "must play" late in games.

Yet JB has greenlighted Marvin to fire away in crunch time when he's hitting threes at .226.

Watching replays of Monk from last night and I got some major Kemba flashbacks when Monk drived the lane. Especially in the first quarter when he split two defenders off a screen for a layup. Monk is definitely picking up some moves and learning from Kemba.

This, ironically, is one reason that I like Monk not starting. I think that it's cool that the team can plug a guy into the 2nd unit who can do some of the absurd things Kemba does, so that there is less of a drop off.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

"Monk isn't a PG, just a playmaker."

Discuss.

Does that just mean he has a bad handle?
