Next year I think.

Serious question, if we miss the playoffs do Presti and Donovan both get canned?

Does anyone know what clay Bennett thinks? He’s got to be disappointed in last season but I hear he’s pro-Presti.

Doubtful. Unless George and/or Russ demand it.

I think he's very pro-Presti. All that being on the board of the Bombing Memorial and stuff has worked to endear him to the ownership.

I think it's more likely Donovan gets extended this season than fired.

On the plus side we could get a lottery pick this year! CamPayne 2.0
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

also sam has produced an environment where clay can charge top 5 ticket prices in the nba in a city where everything costs the least.

one thing katz said about last season sort of exemplifies post-kd thunder to me, and it's that the team didn't seem like they understood why they were losing.

Teams that can't shoot usually compensate by lots of off ball movement to generate backdoor opportunities, defensive breakdowns from where they can make "chicken salad from chicken something" (don't kill me).

We don't have shooters, and we don't move on offence. All our PGs take the same dumb shots Russ does, it's just okay with Russ because he makes them a lot. I will give Billy a slight pass on the PG stuff seeing as he gets hard doubles on and off the ball right now. that's just something that will clean up with Russ back.

Watching Dennis play yesterday literally hurt my mind. Dude needs to go to the rim and use the midrange as a fallback option, not the other way around. Damn.

I hope so. Then again, I've been all alone on the fire Presti bandwagon for a while. I expect it to start filling up when OKC either misses the playoffs or gets easily beaten in the first round again.

When it comes to evaluating presti I guess it depends if you think it’s more likely that presti can hire a competent coach or bennet can hire a better gm. I think the reason I’m hesitant to get rid of presti is because I do think he’s capable of assembling a championship team. If bennet hires ernie grunfeld 2.0 we could be screwed for a decade minimum.

Even though the way the roster is constructed is going against league trends, it could still be much more successful than what we’ve seen the last few years if a competent coach were hired.

I dont see a problem with Presti this offseason, one of the greatest he has had.

But it could be a problem if Dumbovan continues to ruin the roster the way he has for his time in OKC.

That's pretty shocking. I hadn't heard that. Then again it probably helps that there's so little competition for one's entertainment dollar around here. It's pretty much Thunder or the movies most nights.

Presti had a disaster of an off-season. The first thing he did was say that Donovan was coming back. There was no fixing the off-season after that.

i replied to this hamm tweet but he ignores me usually. it has no context- thunder are about league average at open / wide open shot frequency. hamm makes it sound impressive but the volume is not.

and of course, judging whether or not a shot is a 'good look' based on the nearest defender is impossible without knowing who attempted the shot. jerami grant and terrance ferguson have attempted 12 wide open or open threes. are those good looks?

hamm is just sunshine pumper. unless it has to do with players that the thunder media are against. i.e. he was big on the waiters push, questioned playing roberson, big on brewer, and he's definitely going to be one of the guys pushing jerami grant down our throats and marginalizing patterson.

Presti has whiffed big on 1st rd. draft picks as of recent :(

Huestis
Ferguson
Payne
McGary

who else?

Anunoby would have been a nice get. Especially with Roberson out.

Isn't there some advanced stat/sportvu tracking stuff that calculates the shooter and distance and can tell the expected eFG% on this versus actual?
