A legit rim protector would do wonders for this team. Even if the guy plays about 15 minutes or so.

But also frustratingly predictable

Can't let DJ just be parked in the paint, he will control it, bigger and more athletic than everyone else

Dropping back the screener's defender when Mavs run pick/roll/pop was killing the Wolves, switching made so much more sense even though it can lead to some mismatches. But having the screening defender back-pedaling to paint wasn't working at all and was obvious in the 2nd quarter

I just don't see how the Wolves will be anything but a bottom 8 defensive team until they start switching defensively way way more, only way to keep matched up on the perimeter

Monster effort by Rose last two games, on both ends, but also have seen that he really has no chance defensively when he's guarding guys like Osman and LD that are 5+ inches taller.

After training reports came out about them switching in practice, I thought we would see it more. I know Teague mentioned how he thought they could switch instead of playing a more traditional way

Mavs would seem to be good team to switch against, they don't really have any post players and thats what usually hurts teams that switch
Guys like DJ and Powell are effective moving, not so much backing down a smaller player

KAT just isn't big/long enough and isn't a particularly explosive jumper. He can get better but I don't believe he will ever be good enough that the "dropping back" screen coverage will ever be successful for him. That concept can work really well if you have a monster like Gobert, Whiteside, etc

KAT is pretty mobile and would be better served just switching on to smaller players and trying to contain them on the perimeter

I believe the Dallas fans are.

They also did it to Rose.

If jimmy is refusing to stay with this team, i want to take richardson and whiteside for jimmy and dieng.

We need more defense on the wings to save thibs from himself. Mavs went at teague or rose every time down the stretch. Rose works hard, but he simply cant guard wings.

Whiteside is big and strong. He'll limit second chance opportunities and wont cave on contact. Then move kat to pf.

This game was so damn frustrating. Should have been an easy win. I get furious watching Kat and Wiggins and knowing they’re not outrageously strong at any individual facet of winning basketball.

Kat is an amazing scorer but at the same time he’s so weak that it almost doesn’t matter. His post ups get initiated at like half court cause it’s so easy to push him out of the paint. When he finally is backing his man down he always ends up taking a really soft shot attemp like the dirk fade away or something. He can make them which is exciting but they’re such high difficult shots that I’m sure the opposing team can live with it. HE NEEDS TO BE STRONGER ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL!!!!

Wiggins even though he was solid tonight also needs to be stronger on both sides. Drose literally took the game over single handedly. Wiggins doesn’t need to score in that fashion but I wish he would approach the game with that level of intensity. Even if it was for just a few minutes. He physically is better than his match up 9x out of 10. Why can’t he just dominate.

Both these guys are damn max players. For guys who get paid the absolutely most possible, I wish that there was atleast 1 thing that both of them were insanely dominant at.

Yeah, Minnesota got a lot of bad calls them.

Are they still doing 2 minute reports for the refs, if so that'll be something interesting to see.

Oh, yes they are.

I gotta say I love rose, he pushes the ball all the time, something people on here have been begging for. Dude is making the minimum and outside the first month he was here, he's been outstanding. Just people with lazy takes just because he's rose and he played for thibs drives me nuts

He is not a wing. Hes still a pg abd is better off defending that position. Hes better than teague in that regard.

Thibs has put him in a tough position by asking him to defend wings.

I agree that it’s hard for drose to guard taller 2s and 3s but at the same time if our team defense was stronger it wouldn’t be as big an issue.

Today for example we gave up so many second chance opportunities. You’re bound to look bad if you’re giving the opponent 3 and 4 opportunities to score

The under-utilization of Karl-Anthony Towns should bother everyone here.

Were you watching the game? KAT had so many times down the court during the stretch when he scored it was ridiculous. How can you complain how he was scoring down the stretch is beyond me. I was watching the game next to a Miami heat fan and his comments were damn KAT is really good. They couldn’t get stops at all....offensively that was the best they ever look down the stretch. Finally they gave the ball to KAT and I thought he was excellent.

I thought Wiggins played well too. They had a couple of questionable calls against him....but he played really well tonight I thought as well. Rose played well tonight....but it looks like he is out of control most of the time. Tonight he was good....but there will be nights when he is bad. It was a game we should have won. I real bad missed push off at the end of the game that wasn’t called.

Towns had 17 points the last 8 minutes of the game....if Butler would have been playing he would have probably had two.....
