Re: Game3: Golden State Warriors (2-0) @ Denver Nuggets (2-0) - 8:00 PM ET
This could be a great game to watch - then again, Golden State might be seriously ready after their battle against Utah.
The starting guards matchup fairly nicely IMO and even off the bench, the Nuggets can do fairly well (although I'd love to have Thomas on court for this game for sure).
Not sure anyone matches up well with the Warriors' forwards but the Nuggets might be the closest. If Craig has to start, he might be the best Durrant matchup for us and Millsap is certainly a good matchup with Green - maybe the best in the league.
I'm not overly concerned about any of their centers when comparing to Jokic but remember, this is a team that makes constant defensive rotations and is arguable the best team at providing defensive help for each other.
Sure, I'd expect Golden State to win - but I won't be shocked if the Nuggets win.

I think the difference here will be the fact that you guys are on a back-to-back. Tired legs usually show in the second half and you know GS will capitalize on any of those tired defensive lapses

That could be the case but you also have to factor into it that DEN is used to this altitude and GSW isn't. I'd say losing Barton will factor into it more than B2B game but that's just me. Should be a fun game regardless.

This has the makings of a schedule loss, a back to back against a NBA champion. The Nuggets have also lost their starting small forward.
Despite the obvious odds against them, the Nuggets have three all star capable players, four if you count Millsap. They are young enough to have something left in the tank for a back to back at home.
You have to like the way Jokic and Harris are in mid-season form. Murray may be out of his usual early season funk. The biggest reason for hope is the way the Nuggets have responded to defensive coaching and are currently leading the league in defense. The switching is so much better and Craig may be able to fill in for Barton defensively. Can they stop the warrior's scoring machine, we will soon see.

Canned in Denver.

Maybe this is where Juancho explodes, he did it once, maybe playing GSW will lit his fire again !!

According to first two games, GSW team has the slow start of the season, both opening wins are achieved just thanks to Durant and Curry individual qualities, while rest of the team still looked like in preseason mode. Unfortunately, we lost starting SF Barton at the worst moment. Craig is our SF defensive specialist, but I'm not sure how he can solve his height issue against Durant. Maybe our tallest roster lineup with Juancho as starting SF, or even Lyles is the solution against teams with such tall SF? Warriors can play also plenty of minutes small-ball with Green at center, Durant on PF - in that case, Craig is the most logical SF answer.

Re: Game3: Golden State Warriors (2-0) @ Denver Nuggets (2-0) - 8:00 PM ET
What a bizarre shooting first half from two probably best offenses (with Rockets) in the league. Nuggets at one point have 3 of 24 from the field, but thanks to GSW turnovers (12-2) game is tied at halftime.
Jokic usage rate in the first half is almost scandalous, so despite zero fouls, he played less than 15 minutes with just one assist!?
Harris is best so far, and no words for Millsap/Murray/Lyles 7%FG% (1/14) at halftime. Also, 3/17 for threes are also pathetic, many of them are open shots.
On a positive note, our defense this season once again is completely next level compared to what we have last two seasons.

I never thought that my final comment after win vs all-time best team will ever be "A WIN IS A WIN"
We beat them despite playing without Barton, and other two starters Murray and Millsap have 1/16 from the field
Big credit to big visioner Malone to prolong playing time and usage rate of Jokic in 2nd half so instead 14min&1as from 1st we have 18min&5as type of Joker game in 2nd.
We were really lucky that GSW has so many turnovers in 1st half, and have a pathetic 3pt shooting night for their standards (just 24% tonight, 7/29), but Harris, Jokic, and our bench and defense deserve big credit for today game. If we lose this game, it would be only because of our elite FT% shooters Harris, Jokic, Millsap, and Murray missed 7 out of the last 11 free throws we have in the game.
Special credit to Juancho, I hope this game will give him a lot of the confidence in upcoming weeks when his role will grow during Barton absence. He not only has that crucial last-second blockshot from behind but was also 2/3 cool from 3pt.

Not our best game; some really bad stretches and some really good stretches and some in-between - but the important thing is the Nuggets hustled & WON!

This team is so damn fun.
Tuesday's game vs. Sacramento would be a total trap game for the Nuggets of yesteryear. I'm really curious to see what level of focus and intensity they come out with.

Just tossing this out there:
Does this team play better with Morris than with Murray?

Last night they did, but Murray had a horrific game as he always seems to at the start of the season. Against the Suns Murray was great on both ends though.
