I hear you man. And I'm def overreacting too early in the season. But that Knicks game bothered me. Tatum was a +19 in that game. Had Brad played him a bit longer, I think that game gets out of hand in the 4th and we'd have our stars sitting to end the game, rather than playing in a tight game down the stretch. Ugh. I have to keep reminding myself it's just the 3rd game haha.

plus we're so deep. The lineup only works if everyone sacrifices minutes (around 30 per game per starter is the stated goal) and touches. We start forcefeeding JT and that's cool for him but maybe not in the best interest of the team right now. Once we trade everyone else for AD, then his role expands.

Holy **** that's so true it hurts haha.

Yeah man between Irving, Tatum, Rozier, Smart, Morris we have way too many ball stoppers.

And Baynes can't pass well enough to be a ball mover.

Morris is super talented, and is playing wonderfully but I can't help but think just one other player beside Jaylen Brown on this team playing a simple role of 3 and D in the rotation will help.

Someone to get the **** out of the way and just pass it to one of Irving/Tatum/Hayward when they're on the court.

With Bayne and Morris out I see Theis and Semi taking their minutes.

Theoretically looking at the offensive matchups this game says Hayward and Tatum will have good defenders on them so we should mostly try to have Irving (as bad as he's been) take the lead role on offense. I'll be happy seeing more guys like Semi and Theis play the Baynes role and just pass it to our offensive talents when it's not an open 3 or open lane to the basket.

It's kind of the new thing like when baseball players and management learned they should count the innings of their pitchers.

That said we're really not holding back Tatum at all.

He played 35 against TOR and the very next night against NY 37. 36mpg is the standard starter minutes haha.

That said your point stands with a change, if anything the new meta says you don't want to go over 32 on average for a player for their longevity. So I suspect we'll see a lot less of Tatum than we did with those two games that were not decided till the final minutes.

Any word on how long Baynes will be out?

If it's mild, then up to 10 days.
If it's moderate, then at least 10 days.

Dealing with Vucevic and Bamba is going to be a challenge with Baynes out. I thought Yabu looked pretty good in his cameo vs the Knicks and I expect him to get some of Baynes' minutes.

I hope not. I hope it's Williams who gets the minutes.

Yabu is OK I guess, I just don't think he really brings much to the table except being a thick SOB. Slow as hell. Would love to see if Time Lord can bring a different dimension to things..

Kyrie, sure.

But young dudes like Tatum, averaging 32-33 mpg?? What's the logic there? Injury?

It’s about being able to keep the players fresher when they do play so they can give maximum effort for greater periods of time.

We have to keep 20 year olds fresh? I get if we are blowing teams out, sure. Sit the starters. I remember the Dubs were getting 20 pt leads by halftime and giving the starters most of the second half off. I get that. But tight games, Tatum has to be out there.

I am not saying I agree or disagree with you. But from Brads comments in the past. He believes he gets more top end production out of a player in shorter minutes than if he had them play 40 minutes.

Yeah, he was able to run up and down the court a few times so I'm hoping that means he'll be on the shorter end of the timeline.

How about both and the one deserving most minutes gets more minutes?

Looking for Kyrie to play better. We need to remember that he is coming back from an injury and the game vs the Knicks was a back to back which makes it harder.
