Still does, you making jokes about it doesn't suddenly make it mean anything
Yup. I was told preseason meant ZERO. The way they played meant absolutely nothing. ZERO. It was really strongly said after the Philly game. I think people felt if they said zero enough times and clicked their heels together three times they would end up in Kansas, rather than acknowledge the obvious. The team will get it together. We all know they will. But the woes of the preseason are still there.
No one cares about the preseason. The preseason is worthless, which is why the NBA cut it in half. Players don't take the exhibition games seriously and don't want to play in those games. The first 10 games of the nba schedule are the preseason.
Let's see where the Celtics are christmas day. That's when you want to see what your team is. I can't get fired up in October. Hell, the NBA starts to early anyway. It sued to be Halloween was opening night.
Just heard Eddie House talking about Umbunto and how important it was. Shame on the players if they take it non chalantly and don’t care. But I don’t think it is the case. You have the best of the best taking their craft seriously.
As a fan, you have the right not to care. You’re paying good money to not have to care. That’s different. But really, speaking for myself, I’m not questioning that Stevens and team worked hard after the preseason and will continue working hard to right the ship. You can read my comments after preseason - me and others had concerns about things that I had hoped Stevens could fix by Game 1.
What does it mean? I have no doubt that they will have things in good order by Christmas. My concern is that it might take 60 +wins to get the #1 seed and starting something like 9-6 could have us chasing Toronto early.
It’s just some people project this condescending tone like they really understand basketball better - like they’re Aaron Rogers saying “relax” . Preseason showed us they clearly weren’t ready to start the season that’s all. It doesn’t mean they won’t win a championship.
