You guys did it again, found another gem using a non lottery pick. Really impressed with Allen. Kudos.
He defended 10 shots around the rim last night, and the Pistons only scored on 3 of them.

We got REALLY lucky. he should have gone lottery. he didnt slide on ability, he slid because teams ahead of us really didnt have need for a center. I had said in our draft thread we should trade up to get him, he was literally EXACTLY what we needed at the perfect time:
-modern day center
-someone who can switch/hold his own in the pick and roll
-remove a max salary at center (lopez) and replace it with rookie scale and put the big money into gaurds/wings
he is even hitting threes now. guy is going to be outstanding as he adds weight.

I don't know if I buy it, but I had read somewhere that the top of Marks' 2017 NBA draft board was:
1) Mitchell
2) Allen
3) Tatum
I know Marks has been known to have very different draft boards as compared to most draft sites (I believe it was reported that he had LeVert around 9 & Whitehead around 20), but Mitchell-Allen-Tatum is way too different to believe.

Allen should have been a top 12 pick.

we got lucky... not many teams in that part of the draft were looking for bigs...
1 through 5 was: fultz, Ball, Tatum, Jackson, fox
then jonathan isaac, who to be fair has some real upside himself and to me the better prospect as well.
MArkanen - a stretch 4, not a center
ntilikina, Dennis smith jr, Zack Collins, Monk, Kennard, Donovan mitchell
Zack Collins is the only center in the top 12 were you are like... allen should have went there. the rest are snalls or markanen.
its post-lotto where it gets a bit crazy. Bam went 14... didnt think he was close to as good as allen. i LOVED patton, but for us at 21, not iver allen who was a lotto talent. Harry Giles was all potential, injuries risk reward guy.
without hindsight, Allen should have went 10th instead of collins or 14th to the heat
we got lucky

He was a top 12 talent in that draft. He was projected right there in pretty much every mock draft at that time. I think he fell because teams didn't want to take a project player in such a heavily talented draft class.

That's fine with me. dude will be putting up double doubles + multi block games while shooting 36% from downtown.

It was me that has posted that here in a few threads, I don't know if it ever has been truly leaked or in an article.
A friend of mine whose a Nets fan and is involved in sports has legitimate sauces and tells me stuff he's told from time to time. Neither of us really spread the info much more than vague mentions from time to time. Believe it if you like, but that's all I feel comfortable revealing.

Look at Musa and Rodi's reaction to the block on Blake. Dudes were amped.

Re: Soul Glo, the Afro Samurai - The Jarrett Allen Thread
ND article today wrote:How often will you see the 6’11” (7’3” with the ‘fro) drift out into the corner. More that you’d expect. Jared Dudley told Scotto that in recent years, coaches and organizations have tried to rejigger big man’s games in mid-career, which only works so well. Integrating deep shooting in a 19 or 20-year-old is quite different.
So, I'm confused about something. I don't understand why big men would be encouraged to shoot from the corners, in particular. Seems like closer to the top of the arc would be a better idea, where they can also be more useful in the P&R and as potential passers. That, and the fact that they tend to be slower, and going from the corners makes them cover more ground getting back.

Dude has been really good thus far this year, excited to see where he takes it the rest of this season and the next couple.
