Hopefully he gets to shoot a ton over there and can find happiness. Although he could throw the occasional great pass:

It was zach doing zach things. He was a -20 for most of the night until the game was out of reach.
J Parker also piled on points when the game was out of reach.
I think the bulls are going to regret not extending portis. Kid looked good.
Seems like an inaccurate summary given that Zach was a -6 at halftime (so 'most of the game' is literally impossible), and did not score or attempt a shot in garbage time (defined as the last 6 minutes of a 15+ point game).
Sorry not most of the game, but was -20 for awhile in the 2h. Zach scored 12 when the game was out of reach. I consider out of reach when a team is up +20 for most of the second half.

That seems a little overly critical when he had the second highest plus/minus among the starters. Reading the Bulls page, Zach and Portis were good while everyone else was terrible and yes, the entire team defense was awful.

Coming as a Bulls fan, I’ve been really pleasantly surprised about how much Zach has been attacking the basket. I was under the assumption he was more jump shot happy in the past, but perhaps I was wrong?
Was Zach always this much of a rim attacker with the Wolves?

He looks less awkward or more in shape or something as well. Confidence breeding more determined play maybe. Higher minutes and that team uses his court vision to set things up at times. More involved was all he needed. He's not just standing around waiting for a pass on 8-11 minutes. I remember when he first got a lot of minutes from Thibs. He really showed up, but I swear he was a lot more awkward back then. Maybe just rust at the time. However he also didn't maintain that high level each game during that stretch. He could have made a more authoritative bid to hold continued increased minutes. Looks to be in a better situation now.Domejandro wrote:At least I was right about how Nemanja would look with increased offensive responsibilities and freedom.

He came into the league as an athlete with the ability to catch fire, but everyone around the Wolves and he himself said he's a gym rat that will put in the time to get better. He even said he wanted to prove he's the best player in the draft even with Wiggins in his class![]()
Wolves fans can remember he couldn't even throw a proper entry pass as a rookie. He also NEVER used his left hand on drives and would get blocked for it.
He came back his sophomore year with better handles, ability to finish with either hand & a better passer..he was still very whack on the defensive end.
His game was mostly pull up 3s, off the dribble mid range and the occasional slash & dunk, but he was always such an acrobat when he drove it in..he didn't really do it AS much as he probably is now, but I wouldn't know because I can't really remember him being in constant attack mode
Then his 3rd year, he was really catching fire often before he tore his ACL & this season he looks like he's picking up where he left off, but even better than before

He hardly ever played SF here. Only when injury depletion demanded it.

Bjelica stats from 2017-2018 season:
21 games as starter
46 ganes as reserve
714 minutes played as starter
657 minutes played as reserveHe hardly ever played SF here.
So actually Bjelica played more minutes as SF, than PF last season. And it is not about injuries. Thibs overpaid Dieng and Gibson two bigmen who can't shoot 3s, but failed to add any decent backup wing. Bjelica played out of his role, looked bad, did not complain. He is best fit next to KAT, but he left MIN for nothing. It is not about injuries, it is how you assemble you roster. Now we have 3 PGs, Teague is playing bad, but he is paid 19 mil, meanwhile Rose plays out of position because we have no backup wing. We got killed by any other backcourt. And the best fit next to Wiggins and KAT is Tyus who will leave MIN for nothing next year.
