Anyone else oddly terrified that Sacto is going to be so bad that the risk PHI gets the #1 pick comes to fruition? If they are worst or 2nd worst (and that's where the Vegas O/Us had them), there's a 20-25% chance we don't get the pick and wind up with the Sixers pick, which would be likely well into the 20's.

That'd be a BRUTAL outcome.

I was, then I watched Hawk highlights, they look way too raw. I think they will be good bets along with NY to finish below the Kings. The only problem is all three bottom teams have the same odds somit doesn't really matter. If the Kings finish in the bottom three then Philly has a 14% chance to keep there pick. I'd be fine with those chances as teams can move back even farther now.

Just a public service announcement. The last 3 spots now have the same 14% chance of landing the number one pick. So doesn't really matter if your the worst or second or third worst in relation to the number 1 pick. What does matter is that if you are the worst team you can't slide past 5. The way they have set up the lottery even if your the worst team you have much better odds of falling out of the top 3 being in the top 3 and almost even odds of being 5.

Jontay Porter is out for the year with torn ACL and MCL.

He would have been a mid-first rounder had he stayed in the 2018 draft.

This is exhibit A for why a college or high school player with assurances of going on the first round should almost always stay in the draft or get into the draft.

Jontay could be getting paid five million bucks over the next two years rehabbing his knee. Instead he will likely come back to school again next season to prove his worth, and there is a chance he will fall out of the first round.

I felt this way about it too when I first read it but the way the draft went he may not have been a 1st round pick, he wasn't projected ahead of Williams or Mitchel Robinson. But all this same it is way better to be in the NBA with a torn ACL than in the NCAA with a torn ACL.

Perhaps. We will never know. But I think he probably was a safer choice than Sleepy or Mitch, and I am a fan of both those guys. Jontay has a sweet shot, is a plus passer, a solid rebounder and defender and very smart. His only concern was that he was an average athlete. But a year or two of hard work and, like Olynyk in his redshirt year at Gonzaga, he could make himself into an NBA caliber athlete. Now, with a wrecked knee, the job of making himself an NBA caliber athlete is that much more difficult.

Dude is some kind of crazy specimen that is more than just an highlight reel. He's got the IQ.

The 3 most unique and pure power athletes with skill I've seen are Shaq, Barkley, and LeBron in no order. Zion might be the best of them in terms of raw athleticism. I'm watching really closely at Duke to see how much he develops.

I think we should keep an eye on Darius Bazley. He's going to be in Boston working as an intern for New Balance while he prepares for the draft. Perhaps the Celtics allow him to work out at their practice facility since it was funded by New Balance. And perhaps Ainge uses one of his many 1st rounders on him to get into the good graces of his agent, Rich Paul.

I'm pretty set on Zion and Little. Just something about physical specimens.

The Kings don't appear to be that bad this season so at least Philly loses out on that too. Even if the Celts do get lucky with that pick there's probably a decent chance it gets dealt for more win now talent tbh.

No they do look pretty bad. I'm not going to get overworked over a win against the Grizzlies at home, they also look pretty old and disjointed. Unless they trade that pick for a star they're going to need cheap young players on rookie contracts to balance out their cap situation also. The chances Philly gets that pick even if they're are bad are pretty low anyways.

No they do look pretty bad. I'm not going to get overworked over a win against the Grizzlies at home, they also look pretty old and disjointed. Unless they trade that pick for a star they're going to need cheap young players on rookie contracts to balance out their cap situation also. The chances Philly gets that pick even if they're are bad are pretty low anyways.

The grizz, kings, and thunder are all terrible. Look at how we played, and how we shot, and we still beat the thunder.

I really can't see the Griz pick conveying this year. Mark Gasol looks like a shell. I watched a lot of griz and kings games so far.

They will be both fighting for bottom 5. Thunder will win some, probably 9-10 seed in west.

Hawks and Mavs look like they will be bad, but not as bad as Griz/Kings. The Cavs seem to be the team we have to worry about sucking the most.

still early on but I'm fine with the early wins.. Teams will start to pick up their play and i think sac either grows fast or will start suffering
