Batum is going to be making 27 million in 2020-2021 .( Biz is also gone after next season.) Batum is a the poster boy for a white elephant type player that is good enough to get paid, but not good enough to really carry a team so you don't even really want him on your team. He should be a third option making Marv money at best. It's pretty depressing looking at the Warriors salary cap, Marv is getting Draymond Green\Iggy money and Batum makes significantly more than Klay Thompson.

But all the wannabe GM dorks dubbed Cho a cap managing master. He squandered every dollar.

I really don't think it matters who the GM is if tanking isn't an option. Losing the Anthony Davis sweep stakes has doomed this franchise to 8th seed gunning for the foreseeable future. We haven't and are not going to get that close to drafting a no-brainer generational type talent like that for a long time, imo. Hopefully we can make a decent living in the mid picks and smart acquisitions like the Pacers. Jordan is never going to let this team do what the 76ers did, and we don't have the pieces to fleece somebody like Boston did to the Nets and what the Lakers (Kup.) did with the Gasols trade/C. Paul trade that was rejected by the league. (Gasol trade ended up being even, but the Lakers literally gave up nothing off their roster at the time.)

I agree that we should probably start thinking about limiting Marv's minutes. Father time has knocked him down to a bit player, he just can't keep up out there and it's tough to watch. The effort is there, the body just isn't able.

Unfortunately until JB realizes that MW is too old and should be a bench player and that Batum should be the 4th or 5th option at best and only play limited minutes this team is going nowhere. Batum should never be in the game at crunch time with game on the line and never used to throw ball in with his lazy passes. It is actually hard to watch this team with Batum playing as he can not shoot or even make plays and has an overall negative impact on the team.

Welcome to the board my man

Team is clearly lacking a 2nd option with the starters. Lamb is a good 3rd and Batum 4th. One of Marvin or Zeller has to go

Bulls game is a fluke, bench just played really bad and Cam Payne hit 7 threes in the 2nd half. We would have won if just one of those rimmed out.

I still say the reason Payne hit so many threes is because Kemba Walker left him open, both in transition and in the half court. It's not rocket science. You hew close to the hot man.

Cam Payne is so bad, one of the worst players in the NBA that it was probably planned to leave him open. They should have adjusted when he hit 3 of them though.

Said it early too, but Lamb is at his best driving. Like.... he should definitely do it more instead of probing for 4 seconds then giving the ball up once the offense has lost all rhythm or throwing up some "i tried" jumpshot.

All of the perimeter guys got hammered because they don't respect our bigs diving after the high PnR. I can't necessarily give Monk a hard time because Kemba was getting tripped up for the majority of the game as well. It was rough sledding.

Cody.... he's been in the league too damn long to not understand how to gather himself before going up. Its ridiculous. WHG is finally realizing the difference from eating up scrubs free with all the time in the world during preseason and being expected to make quick decisions against pros in the regular season - he's got to adjust. Even if he's gonna be bad on defense, he can't do that on offense or we're simply playing without a center and forcing MKG to be our lead rebounder as well as our lead defender.

As we saw, it puts him in foul trouble way too fast.

But honestly all this stuff is more or less fixable with time. We're going to need a mobile 5 no matter what though. That's the one big fundamenal weakness to the team right now. Doesn't even need to be a starter. Just 20 minutes a night from a guy who can actually provide some weakside help and catch a lob would solve a ton of problems. (Its probably why that bum mathiang is around still   ). We literally can't double team because of that.

Cameron Payne hitting 7 threes is like MCW dropping 50 breh

I'm not as upset as everyone else is about this game but because if it takes 7 threes from a guy who was on the way out of the league and our leader on offense, defense, and HC get tech'd up early due to refs.... then hell  some Ls you just gotta take. On to the next one.

Order from on high seems to be that the future of basketball is matador defense, threes and dunks. The way the game has called has tilted things so incredibly in the favor of scoring that games are disgustingly one-sided.

Should have played better as a team, obviously, and not blaming the L on the refs. Both sides were not allowed to actually play anything resembling defense. My beef is that everything is a FT parade this year, it's getting reaaaaaally old. Everyone is too spooked to actually guard their man, so it's just wide-open three after wide-open three with occasional dunks. And how can you blame the defenders? Brush against a guy and the whistle blows. (The exception was Wendell Carter Jr, that kid got hosed all night. I guess Silver told the refs rookie hazing is still a go)
