Rodney Hood
The Cavs are on the verge of rebuilding the team and trade all the assets they have but Osman, Sexton and Zizic.
One of them is Rodney Hood who signed the QO and most likely part ways with them at the end of the season.
I can see pretty easy that the Cavs accept a swap between him and Stanley. Hood would be pretty interesting in our roster and would fit perfectly in Casey's system.
I know that for this trade to happen, Rodney should also accept the trade. I fairly think that he would do it in a heartbeat.
My question is if there is any schedule restriction for this trade to happen.

Re: Rodney Hood
Sounds good to me. Rodney Hood is a solid 2 guard. I'm not sure why any team would want Stanley though, he's been awful.

At this point, a rutabaga would work better in place of stanley.

Re: Rodney Hood
Hood being on the QO would make him an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. If he turns out to be good and we want to keep him, how much could we offer?

Re: Rodney Hood
Most we could offer would be full MLE. I believe with a QO the Bird Rights are burned if he's traded - which is why the layer has to give their okay for any trade.
We don't need no more 2-guards. I'm more than open to dealing Johnson, but we have Jackson getting PT at the 2-guard now, have Kennard getting no minutes, have Bullock, have Galloway and have Thomas, have Brown and even have Lofton on the 2-way contract.

Re: Rodney Hood
Ya. Fingers crossed SJ figures things out.
GR3 hasn't shown much but I feel like him and Bullock would be best as starters due to them both being solid defenders at either spot and good 3pt shooters.

Re: Rodney Hood
Hood is reported to have anxiety issues during big moments and games, so he won't be a long term solution, but he's got to be better than SJ at this point in time.

His defense is a disgrace, so no, he is not better than SJ, even if SJ is a complete joke.

Bird Rights do not ever go away unless a they are renounced by the team or the player either clears waivers or changes teams in free agency.

I recall something different from the KCP off-season. QO's come with full NTC's because if they are traded they lose it, meaning they can only be signed with cap space or MLE's anywhere, but if they stay with their QO team than can be S&T'd during the off-season.
If any of the players who re-signed for one year approves a trade during the 2018/19 league year, he’ll have Non-Bird rights at season’s end instead of Early Bird or full Bird rights. Any player who consents to a trade will retain his veto ability on his new team, and would have to approve a subsequent deal as well.

Cavs "rebuilding" around Sexton and Osman is like when we were "rebuilding" around Knight and Jerebko.....

To be fair, the current idea is Love, Sexton, and RJ Barrett.

Anyway, Cavs fan coming here to check out public opinion on Stanley, when I see this thread. I think this swap make a ton of sense for both teams. Clearly Hood is a better player than he's shown in Cleveland, and maybe Stanley benefits from a fresh start. Would be worth a look.

I still don't believe Hood would come with Bird Rights. And we have no space to then re-sign him. I guess we could use our MLE but he seemed to want more than that this past season.

I think (and Windhorst also said) Love was resigned with the idea/hope he'd have more trade value not facing FA.
As to Barrett, their hand is likely forced now with Love's injury, but there wasn't much they did this offseason that suggested ownership intended to tank.
That said, I'm sure they'll fall bassakwards into Barrett or Zion because the franchise somehow seems to always find gold despite itself.
