Game 5: Boston Celtics (3-2) @ Detroit Pistons (4-0) - 10/27, 7:00 PM ET

I want to see what kind of crowd they draw at LCA tomorrow night. They shouldn't have to worry about red or black seats for this game. Saturday night, the team's undefeated, Blake's a superstar, and it's the Celtics. If there are empties in the lower bowl, there's a real problem. I also want to hear the place get loud - test these state-of-the-art acoustics we've been told about.

I hate Boston. We really need to at least split these next two games to show we are legit. East schedule so far. Did I mention I hate Boston?

This is a big game in a number of ways.

Home game against a top tier opponent on the second night of a back to back... good opportunity to come out and show they're legit

edit* whoops game is tomorrow

No need to wonder about how full the stadium will be. It's gonna be pretty empty. They keep announcing 80%+, so presumably it's just a bunch of companies who bought up tickets and then either aren't showing up or just hanging out at the bar. A 4 game win streak isn't going to change that. Even if they do technically sell out all the tickets, there are going to be plenty of empty seats.

So far this season we're listed as #8 in attendance, this is weird.

It was real empty yesterday. Lower bowl 50% empty and upper level 80% empty.

3 of our 4 games were at home. Tomorrow will make 4 of 5. Most teams haven't had that many home games.

That's fair, but the fact that they've arrived at 4-0 with most having been close is a testament to their competitive approach. They're still working out how best to utilize a roster with quite a few changes. They aren't going to go undefeated, or not have bad spots in the season. Still, if they can maintain the competitive approach they've shown so far, they're going to be okay, with a little luck in the stay healthy.

I cant imagine there was more than 30k in the building combined for all 3 home games. Last year, they would announce 15k plus for a given game but there was no way there was more than 7k people there.

We knew people at the game who got free tickets because they work for a corporate sponsor and they don't follow the Pistons at all and mostly enjoyed hanging out at the club with free food and drinks. I think you probably get that a lot in the seats where they are given out for free. The amount of die hard, want to be in the seats for every minute of the game type fans is likely very low. Even my wife commented how our area really filled up in the middle of the second half where we had tons of empty seats around us the first half.

The hate for the Celtics is real for me. Been hating since the stolen inbounds, so it's not something I can easily dismiss. The fanbase is arrogant to the point of becoming a caricature, and...they smell bad.

Its irrational at this point. Hatin' so long I dont know no other way'.

A split would be great, a competitive couple games with losses would be fine as well. Just as long as Stanley Johnson plays 24mpg and under until hes traded for Tatum because Ainge fell down and hit his head as the front office is on the phone with him.

I BELIEVE.

Also, when the hell is the F.O. going to pull the trigger on Butler already? Times a wastin'.

Per ESPN, so far...
10/18 vs BKN = 20,332 (97%)
10/21 vs CHI = 21,289 (+100%)
10/24 vs PHI = 14,418 (69%)
10/26 vs CLE = 15,896 (76%)

But as had already been mentioned, way too many no-shows from giveaway tickets or season ticket holders who can't be bothered to turn up just yet this early in the season. :nonono:

I think it's also gonna take some time for people to get used to going to the LCA as well. I bet that it wont be at true capacity for another 2 years, unless the team is DEEP in the playoffs.

Odd that the lowest number at home was against Philly...

Did people show up against Cleveland thinking they were gonna see Lebron?

Or maybe they just wanted to see a more-probable win.
