Re: Luka Dončić Discussion
Hah few hours ago i checked his friends stream when they played fortnite with some of his former Real Madrid teammates and his GF was pushing him to go somewhere. You could hear it on the stream that they had a small argument. Now i know what it was all about lol.
He has so many fans already. I love it that Mavs fans embraced him so warmly.

Re: Luka Dončić Discussion
Not gonna go around and spam other forums, but I just noticed Doncic has higher 3P% than Young. I guess that's the reason why we have seen fewer Hawks fans posting Trae's numbers vs Doncic's numbers for the last day. And it's a good example of why these guys should be analyzed after half of the season for a more consistent comparison. Just to be clear - I am not making any conclusions myself.
I have also noticed that Suns fans, on their forum, are writing more about Doncic than Ayton.
I don't think I've seen many (if any) anti Ayton posts around here, but Suns forum is full of derogatory comments about Doncic. It's kind of cute.
If they need that to get them going...

Yeah it's a long season, it's not a sprint. I think Young with his stupid shot selection will have even bigger up and downs than Doncic.. But i haven't seen any derogatory comments about Doncic there. Unless they talk about statistics which, right now, means nothing basically. Specially cos' it's 2 different systems with 2 players having different assignments.

You mean on the Hawks forum? Yes, I was talking about Suns forum only. The Hawks forum seems sane to me.

Re: Luka Dončić Discussion
I'll keep it short.
I am positively surprised by the stats Luka is getting, expected a slower start in this regard. While at the same time, judging from individual situations on court, his transition to NBA is actualy slightly worse than I expected.
One thing is adapting to NBA, Dallas, new team, different rules and some of his TO's can be explained by that.
But overall he is getting more exposed on boxing out, is less agressive on getting through screens, doesn't have that flare going for an offensive rebound he had in Real Madrid, has that tendency to commit a "should have known" turnover and is overall way more laid back and notably less confident than he was in europe, especially with shooting, which isn't something I would attribute to acclimatisation.
It's encouraging to see he is still a factor in the games, nevermind the issues he is having and even more so when considering Luka can play notably better in some particular situations.
Imo, he has to clear up his head first... and realise he has to earn that right to have the ball in his hands in the crunch time first, instead of feeling sorry for himself whenever he doesn't get the ball. When he gets past that and gains some confidence back, I think he could start performing better than I imagined would be the case this early in his career.

I agree with majority. I'm also impressed by the statline so far, but I'm far less impressed by the "eye test" so far. I'm as big Luka fan as anyone, but everyone here demanding to just give the ball to the rookie and let him decide the games is crazy. He has to earn this "right". He will get there, no doubt, but you can't just skip steps in transition to NBA basketball, not when you have several veterans on the team who proved themselves already.

By doing what exactly? Being Mavs best player? He hasn't been perfect, but the others seem to be even worse. So what are you going to do?

Luka is leading all rookies in scoring and leads Trae 19.6 PPG to 18.3 PPG so 1.3 PPG cushion. Ayton has 17.5 PPG but is leading all rookie in RPG while Luka is 3rd in RPG among rooks and 2nd in APG behind Trae who leads all rookies in APG.

I know people have been talking about how constantly Luka gets overlooked by his teammates, here's proof he's frustrated by it.

Luka's first chance to retire is coming. He can dunk on Lebron and retire.

Fortunately I don't see that happen. There is no way Luka can dunk over him.

Seven games into the season. What position fits him best? SG or SF?
