Nah, Gortat is struggling this season, too. He's being way outplayed by both Montrezl and Boban. The Clippers did that trade because they knew they had a means to hold Gortat accountable and restrict his minutes while washing their hands of Doc playing his son too many minutes. He's Brooks' problem now and obviously Brooks doesn't have the nepotism problem and...

7.1 PER .514 TS% 24.2 mpg

****!
He's NOT struggling.

The other two are superior.

The Clippers are not a conflict centered or player hater organization. Center by committee is working VERY WELL. Marcin is 34 and NOT THE FUTURE. So his coach OUT OF RESPECT starts the elder statesman C, Marcin Gortat. The guy is NOT STRUGGLING. No, he is communicating and rebounding and defending.

Look at career per minute averages over a dozen NBA seasons. Look at his rebounds, blocks, and assists in limited minutes LAST NIGHT AS HE KICKED THE ASSES of Wizards who TRIED TO RUIN HIS CAREER.

.... McGee ain't too stupid to ball out.
....Gortat is better than the Wizards.

First reply, long time lurker but overly frustrated and a lot of you have touched on some points even covering Gortat to which I will refrain at this moment.

I saw an article supposedly "leaked" on NBC that Scott Brooks' job is safe according to the franchise. I have mixed feelings about that, but IMO, let's be honest, it comes down to money spent during trade/draft time. I have been a fan of DW since his days with the Orlando Magic, however this time off to recover is complete and utter nonsense. The team is in such disarray the concept of teamwork is nonexistent. Even with Gortat and the preaching of synergy between him and Wall that was not consistent. Gortat no matter the team he is on does not work well under pressure and especially the fast pace that Wall likes to at times successfully achieve. The talent is there, the talent is there even against such teams as Golden State, but leadership from Team Capt to coaching is in serious trouble. The Clippers game was shambles, I guess maybe we should getting used to watching 3rd and 4th string Wiz players get some time on the court even when Scott Brooks gives up during a game. just my $.02

Seems like Marcin is someone you know and maybe you don't like. That's cool. What pressure situation? Wall never seemed to delegate. Gortat never was a go to finisher....

I only wondered why Gortat didn't develop a reliable three point shot, in pick and pop.

Welcome!

Ditto!

Gortat has had an outstanding career. So far this year, his shot isn't going in. Otherwise, he's playing quite well -- especially his rebounding is great.

Thanks for the welcome!

aaand another disappointment....ref Grizzlies game

Gortat was NEVER good with quick and fast paced passing game, and I mean never. The occasional dunk with the Wall et al assist...rebounder yeah..ok maybe but was honestly useless to the Wizards franchise. As a whole, I do not question his career, just only while with the Wizards.

Probably 3-3 with a Center of Gortat's caliber or Dwight rather.
Big picture: Two games is NOT reset button...but IS cause for alarm.

Elephant in the room: Dwight Howard could be done. Stoopid Wizards.

They deserved to be spanked by Gortat and his team. The Clips have two others better at C than all the Wizards centers. HARRELL and BOBI.

Tobias Harris is as good as Beal or better. Same with Porter...not to mention healthy Danilo Gallinari.

Last: ALREADY I take Shai Gilgeous-Alexander over John Wall.

SGA is looking good. LaClipps have a deep team - among the deepest teams in the NBA - though lacking in star power.

I think the Wiz said they expect Howard to be ready late this week. Edit - 80's post says this Friday. We'll see.
Cool.

I'm bitchin and trolling but the Wizards even at 1-6 trail 4-4 Charlotte by ONLY 2 1/2 games maybe soon 3.

Howard is a very good rebounder. That will help.

With pretty much every ex-Wiz I've had no trouble rooting against them when they played against the Wiz. This game... no chance I'm going to root against my favorite Marcin. Just cannot do it. He said the wrong things sometimes - several times, but I felt like dude played with his heart and soul for my team.

Btw, Harrell would have been my target in free agency over Dwight Howard, but I have no trouble hoping he stinks against the Wiz.
Well said. Martian...err Martin...err Marcin Gortat responded to my congratulatory tweet!

Dude is about to have a fun season.

Second point about Harrell...

Look at this draft for the next Harrell. Maybe the kid Desouza at Kansas? Bruno Fernando?

Tank for Zion Williamson!

I'm actually looking forward to watching Duke - with the 3 top rated freshman in the country. Gotta see if Zion has potential to be a 3 point shooter. I really don't know who else to watch yet. Bruno's got such a long way to go, so I'm doubtful on him. Harrell is so strong with massive upper body combined with explosiveness. Not sure Bruno has that kind of strength.
