Sumner is expected to pair with CoJo tomorrow with Tyreke suspended

This is a bit of a double edged sword. On one hand, it is a shame about Evans (hope he learns and it all works out well), on the other hand, it is a good opportunity for Sumner to get more in-game experience. Let's hope he gets that chance instead of the team having to stretch the playing time of the other guys.

If we go for a big dollar free agent, I want a SF not a PG.

Either/or for me.

PG is more importante position and we dont have quality PG right now... Bojan, Evans and Doug are good options on SF for next season

I'd prefer the best player. Unfortunately, the SF crop isn't that great this summer and more teams need those than do PGs.

Durant/Leonard are not even talking to us.
I'm not too keen on overpaying Harris (and he's more of a 4 anyways).
Barnes would be ok if he opts out but odds are he wants at least $20 mil, which would be too much.
Middleton seems a prime candidate to be overpaid instantly.

The rest kind of suck or at least are worse than Bogie. So overpaying one of Harris, Barnes, or Middleton while losing space for at least another rotation player? Meh, doesn't seem like a great plan.

Bojan and Evans are Fa. We cannot command them to return. And honestly, Collison and Joseph are pretty comparable in impact to Bojan and Doug for sure.

Knowing our franchise, we are almost absolutely guaranteed to overpay Middleton next year, but I’m not sure we’d regret it.

I mean, he'd be a great piece, but I'm skeptical that he's worth max dollars. I think he's slightly overrated as a scorer and his defense has taken a hit as he's taken on more of a scoring load. Of the three I would prefer him though.

I'm not OK with throwing max money at Kris Middleton, at all

There are about a dozen or so other players, last FA season and this FA season, whom I would throw big money at before even considering Kris Middleton

He's a good supporting cast type, but I wouldn't want him to be the number 2, or even 3, on the team

Uh, yeah, totally. There are guys I’d max out before Middleton. They just won’t come to Indy. You want a dozen? Last year, I’d max out Lebron, Durant, Paul George, Jokic, and even Chris Paul ahead of Middleton. Next summer? Kemba, Kawhi, Durant, Butler, Klay, and Kyrie. But how many of them switched teams last year? One. How many next year? One to three? How many are considering Indy? Maybe one?
