Very well said.

Even though he's been somewhat better in Chicago, I would still consider Dunn a bust for his draft position. I tend to rate drafting ability based on results, which in Thibs case aren't particularly good.

It was a very weak draft class outside of top few.

He passed on Jamal Murray, who was 3 years younger and a much better shooter. Drafting Dunn was a wiff.

Too funny, Natta!

Seriously though, I like Wall but if you look at his contract, he'll be making $47M per year three (3) years from now. How in the world could any NBA team put enough pieces around him to win unless the Salary Cap skyrockets after 2019/20? Now a trade of Butler for Bradley Beal is a completely different matter...

Not half the league, maybe a third.

I never really understood the Dunn hype. He wasn't good in college until he was an upper classman playing against smaller younger kids and even then he wasn't really all that good. Couldn't shoot and was old. He was the 1 guy i absolutely didn't want (although i would have drafted Chriss, who is way worse so...)

Tom Thibodeau is not believed to be ready yet to seriously negotiate a trade of Jimmy Butler.
The Houston Rockets, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers have interest in Butler.
Butler will miss Wednesday's game, but he has told associates that he plans to play against the Warriors on Friday night.
Butler and his agent are frustrated by the Wolves slowly moving to honor his trade request.

WFT!!!!! Why is Thibs still hanging on? I have seen divorces that haven't taken this long to dissolve.
He won't give up. Taylor needs to step his ass up ASAP.

The Butler thing seems hasty. Are we sure he is not just resting like he did earlier? I don't know if this is really some massive protest for a trade. If he doesn't play the next 2-3 games then I will make some noise about it.

Jimmy said that he is not about the money. He just wants to play basketball and I have no reason not to believe him. (sarcasm)

It’s being reported that he told Thibodeau the reason he’s sitting out is to get a trade.

It seems to be a matter of who you believe....

From ESPN:
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Jimmy Butler said he won't play in Wednesday's game against Utah "because my body is hurting," but added that he intends to join the team for Friday's game against Golden State.

Butler told ESPN's Rachel Nichols on Wednesday that he doesn't want any soreness from playing in games after missing training camp to escalate into an injury.

"Because my body is hurting and I don't want to go out there and risk an injury, people make stuff up?" Butler said in a text to Nichols. "What are they going to do when I show up and hoop on Friday?"

Nothing in The Athletic's or ESPN's reports indicated that.

Which isn't taken verbatim from the actual reports. Nothing irks me more than aggregators taken as gospel truth like that.

The ONLY place an extended absence (sitting out to get a trade) is referenced is in this tweet.

Read on Twitter

League sources. But if this was such an important part of the story, why isn't it in the full report written by either Woj or Shams/Jon? Probably because it either ended up being inaccurate speculation or just wasn't able to be verified.

Now it appears that the report that Jimmy Butler is refusing to play was fabricated. So maybe he isn't a POS after all.

What did people really expect? He wouldn't "miss" games so he won't get fined, but he would definitely sit out games for rest, soreness, tightness, etc. Anything he can get away with & do you blame him? He's been playing and helping us win games, but i'm sure a lot of us expected him to be gone today or sooner.

IDK, They are looking like busts, but I have only watched two games, and fantasy stats.

Maybe a fresh start would do it for them. Are you willing to take the risk?

I would take the risk due to age and upside. Fultz is 20 can pass and defend so even if his shot doesn't come around (which I think it will) he's not useless. Saric is 24 and think he could be a nice long term fit at PF when Gibson leaves. I can see the interest in Covington as we know his floor and fit, plus the contract is reasonable. I think he's basically a couple years older version of Richardson with Richardson still having a bit more upside potential.

I just want him gone at this point. This is the best Timberwolves team in years and we don't deserve Jimmy Butler to be squandering the season like this. Luckily there are multiple teams who are interested in his services, which could create a bidding war. Bring back a starting caliber wing (JRich or Roco/Saric), and hopefully a rim protecting big and call it a day.
