Yes....Yes he is.

Even if the soreness is real, he still only has it because he didn’t get himself ready physically for the start of the NBA season.

Then that makes him a dumb POS for not getting in shape, while bitching to other who don't work harder than him.
Hypocrite.

I waivered on Butler for some time, BUT to have the balls to selectively pick and choose games he is gonna play in (why Thibs/Taylor allow it is beyond me), use Woj as his media mouthpiece, and pop up out of nowhere to get some press on his Rose bomb - Thibs and Taylor gotta shut this guy down and keep him away from the team. I am willing to let him walk at this point.

He's a big attention WHORE!
Rose has the best night of his career and he tries to steal a piece of it.
I like how he states how he's "going to war" with his "soldiers," but stays in the locker room during the game.
I really tried to root for him as a Wolves player, but I just can't now. It's painfully obvious to EVERYBODY that both he and Thibs need to be gone before we can move forward. Bench his ass and don't play him until a trade goes down. Do not let him pick and choose when he plays. The NBA is laughing at us like never before. This make Kahn look like a genius. I'm torn on the rest thing. While I agree he should've gotten in better shape during training camp rather than the shenanigans he pulled, I also think there is value in periodically sitting out in order to preserve the body for a long 82-game season plus playoffs. This isn't something we're accustomed to around here because of the previous decade of futility, but it's hardly the first time this has been done.

I dont mind the rest myself. He didnt do camp, didnt do preseason, that can have a toll on the body. Worst thing that could happen is he pushes too much and gets hurt for the season. That means no trade, we get nothing, he loses out on possible big pay day. Sitting out here and there, especially early in the season, may mitigate that injury risk. As long as this is a precaution for that and not a statement about being unhappy with the team, I am good.

I’m cool with resting Butler on back to backs. What I’m not cool with is the guy pretending to be all about the team and his “brothers”, and then not even sitting on the bench.

This guy last year was refusing to let Rubio to visit the Wolves locker room after a game. I’m all about that, but now you want off the team and embarrass your teammates and want to chill in the locker room, but still want to be considered a good teammate and leader. To me it just seems like he was afraid of getting booed and was selfish last night.

First, Butler does NOT need the rest!! It's purely fictional. The media (largely Woj) tend to spew this type of info to add drama , and it's no coincidence that he usaually drives the chatter for players wanting "out".

he's been trying to market himself, but in the process, continues to show colors that prospective teams find fashionable.

Exactly! If he's just resting, then why isn't he on the bench with his teammates during a home game?

Yea F Jimmy for not being there. Turd

Im sure the other NBA owners are just salivating at the thought of giving this guy his 1xx,000,000 hes hoping to get next yr

Does jimmy not think the owners see this behavior and are thinking to themselves "why do i want this disease AND pay for it"?

Let me be clear...im all for keeping jimmy. Hes the best player on the team and we need him for the playoffs...But hes a turd. No other way to spin this.

I find the NBA as a whole to be a joke.
Read this.....

The NBA is considering a fine for J.R. Smith following comments to the public that he would like a trade.
Smith was asked by a reporter Thursday if he hoped to be traded.
"Yeah," Smith said. "They know. They don't want me here, so they obviously know."
Smith is out of the rotation and he has discussed with the front office of the Cavaliers the possibility of leaving the team until a trade can be found.
Smith is making $14.7 million this season.

Adrian Wojnarowski/ESPN

He should throw Butler under the bus.

But I find it a bit ironic that he wants to leave because the young guys aren't working hard enough, then shows up out of shape.
I would sit his ass down anyway before he DOES get hurt. Then he rides the injury to the end of the year, and we still get nothing.
I am tired of this sh*t show, and ready to move on.

Being in shape and being NBA game shape are entirely different. If you've followed the NBA for a good amount of time you've had to heard players giving interviews that it takes nearly a month to get back into game shape(through playing games), toss in Butler having that surgery on his hand and not being able to take contact till late in the summer, missing preseason games and doing a hold out by not attending the practices and you get where he could be out of NBA game shape at this time.

I don't like it myself but I do understand how there could be a legitimate reason for him sitting although I'm more inclined to think he's just going to "skip" games when he doesn't feel near 100% because he doesn't take it easy very often during actual games.

It is interesting that Wolfson and G.Taylor mention the 5 year 190 million dollar contract is still a possibility.

At the end of the day, if you're looking at talent, you're not going to get a more talented player then Butler to team up with Towns in Minnesota and if you think your top players are your team's ceiling, then you want to fix this problem and retain Butler. If you don't care about talent and just want to watch a team you like no matter if they make the playoffs or not, fine, I get that.

Butler missing a game on back to backs is how top tier players should be.. even more so when he misses 10-20 games a year with injuries. I’m not bothered by that at all.. it bugs me he is not on the bench with the team.. that’s about it where is the news today????

To me Wins and Losses are all that matter. So far 3-3 with him and 1-1 without. The jury is still deliberating. If he comes up big on Friday and we beat the Warriors I'm going to start liking Jimmy again.
