EJ Montgomery

Post#1 » by JHTruth » Wed Oct 31, 2018 4:11 pm

Pardon me, but I couldn't find his thread in the first few pages.

I need to ask why we're not seeing him on any of these mocks so far. They guy is going to a Blue-blood school, will get plenty of exposure, and seems a surefire Top-10 pick if he comes out.

6-10, smooth and mobile, can handle, pass and shoot. Creative scorer. Defensive upside.

Any reason we're not seeing him in Mocks?

Well, not sure how much exposure he is actually going to get, for starters, secondly, the guy has skills for sure but his archetype goes against modern bball, not good enough as a defensive big to be a Center, probably his skills aren't good enough to feature him as a 4, and most people want to play with 3 wings anyway

I am intrigued and I like some of his tools, but I think it ain't a lock, at all, that he is a one and done type guy

I like him as a college player, not so much in the NBA. I think he envisions himself as a hybrid 3/4 but his skillset is more conducive to a 4/5. I would like to see him commit to the block more. He reminds me of Trey Lyles. Maybe Cal is using him more on the block, I haven't watched any of UK's preseason stuff though.

Im going to echo what has been said so far. I really wanted Duke to land this guy, I thought he was going to be a stud college player if he stays around for a couple years. On the NBA level I dont see him excelling. Not saying I think hes going to be out of the league a year or 2 after being drafted. I just dont see an impact player or starter from him. Doesnt have the defense to be a 5 and doesnt have the skill or athleticism for today's 4 (especially with a lot of teams just running 3 wings out there).

That's what it seems like listening to Cal. Seems like Cal is determined to whip that out of him..
