2019 NBA Draft
Obviously we are a long way out, but with the talk of Jimmy getting traded and assuming that their will be a 1rst coming back, in addition to our own 1rst, it felt like a good idea to start a thread tracking some of the guys that may be of interest to us next summer.
Depending on how you currently view the Wolves needs, it will change your perspective on who is "your" guy. Personally, I see a SF, PG, and C as the biggest three areas given our current roster. Much can change between now and next summer, but here is who I am going to be keeping an eye on at this time...
SF - Cam Reddish, Sekou Doumbouya
PG - Coby White
C - Porter, Bol, Bassey
Who do you have this NCAA season that you would like to see on the Wolves next year.

Obviously we need depth at W but I think we also need to look for our next PG with the current contract status of both Teague and Jones. I don't view either of those guys as our longterm solution so I'm going to pay attention to guys like Darius Garland, Jaylen Hands and Ja Morant this season.

I would normally agree with this, as I believe it will be an important summer for us at PG. However, it sounds like this draft lacks star power and it seems like PG might be one of the weaker spots of the draft.

I would agree with that, Klomp. It's early, but there seems to be a lot more top prospects at C, PF and SF in next year's draft. The guy that has me curious is SF Quentin Grimes from Kansas.

Same strategy as always
Get as many skilled 6'4-6'9 guys since that is what works in playoffs

I just hope we are drafting very, very late in the first round. 30th would be my preference.

Thestepien has barrett, little, Williamson and reddish in tier 1, all wings. In tier 2 hunter, doumboya, bol, grimes and porter. No pgs.

It will be interesting to see what we net in return for Butler as far as young prospects go

Re: 2019 NBA Draft
Bol bol is a cool 7'2 with a 7'5 wing span.
Im cool with him and getting kat the hell out of the 5

I like getting more length, but I don't know that he's more of a 5 than Towns.

Re: 2019 NBA Draft
As we are getting closer to college basketball season and getting a better look at our beloved t-pups, man do we need a lunch-pail big man to put next to Towns. I don't care if it is a PF or a C, though I think Karl would do much better at the 4 (I understand and respect the disagreement). Keeping eyes open for a Gobert, Deandre Jordan, Ben Wallace type of player...play defense, block shots, rebound the ball, and destroy the rim around the basket. Just because the league is trending in one direction doesn't mean this type of player wouldn't be effective for stretches during games.
Wiggins has played better, I still see him as a 2. I love Okogie's hustle, and yes he could develop into something nice, but for now I would love him as a 6th man to be a spark off the bench. I see point guard, small forward, and center as our biggest needs still...
Holding out for Reddish and White...there are some interesting big men in the draft, but Charles Bassey is really the only one I am sold on right now. Bol Bol for obvious reasons, and then there are others who I would need to see measurables on before I would commit, even Bassey's measurements can fluctuate depending on where you read info. We need a little more beef down low, but not the slow plodding kind.

Re: 2019 NBA Draft
Barrett is very very good. Like if Shabazz could dribble, shoot, pass a little, and defend good. Williamson is a beast. So nimble for a player his size. Only question is can he impact defense at the rim and space the floor. If so this guy could be very special at PF. Reddish looks good offensively. Lots of potential on that side, but doesn't look like he knows exactly what he wants to do there yet.
Duke very likely has 3 of the top 5 picks.
