GT #9: Knicks @ Wizards 6 PM (NBCSW/1500 AM) [11/4/18]

YOUR Washington Bullets are off to one of the worst starts ever! They are 1-7 and at the bottom of the standings. Not only that, they are at the bottom of a lot of statistical indicators! They can't play defense for some odd reason, they can't rebound, and they turn over the rock.

They got ran off the gym in Dwight Howard's first game as a member of the club. He had a good offensive debut but that's about it. John Wall had 7 turnovers and wasn't playing defense on Westbrook. Bradley Beal shouldered the scoring load and took Brooks' clipboard away from him to coach the team. Otto Porter got his toe hurt but came back and didn't do anything after a strong start.

The Knicks are coming to DC off a win over the Mavs. The Knicks can score lots of points and I expect them to take advantage of the lax defense. Hardaway Jr. and Kanter figure to dominate the Wizards and we get to see Mitchell Robinson outplay the Wizards centers too.

We're approaching the 10 game mark and IMO after 20 games you'll probably see Leonsis MAYBE make a change. It is cheaper to fire Grunfeld than Brooks.

I hope not too. Because, he is right, this is different. This team is playing poorly on both sides of the court and show no signs of changing.

Knicks no pushover but we can’t lose them all. Knicks not healthy, on road, odd start time. We win!

John and Kelly getting an extra hour of sleep will help as well.

There isn’t a team in the league the Wizards, playing the way they are right now, could win against.

It has nothing to do with the makeup of the other team. It has nothing to do with talent or coaching. It is 100% about this team not being able to play with a consistent effort on both ends of the floor. This team doesn’t give a shyt, either because they want Brooks gone or because they hate each other or because they think they’re much better than they are.

Whatever the reason, I don’t predict a win until we get our collective you-know-what together.

If Otto doesn't play that should mean Brown sees some action? Sorry, I forgot about our coach - most likely Oubre starts and Rivers plays +30 mins.

Knicks are well-coached and play extremely hard. There's a good chance this is an L, and I'm totally fine with that. The worse this gets, the better off we'll be long-term.

But... that's not why he made the comment, is it?

He made the comment to remind fans that we went 49-32 after starting 2-8. I.e. it's a marketing comment.

I'm getting really tired of Ted Leonsis. Really, really tired.

Where's that Millelie btw?

Ted, that smug ****.

Look at that greasy **** acting all smarmy and low key recall the dumb luck run the Wizards had in 2016.

How'd the Wizards fare following that miraculous 2.5 month run? That's right, the "too cool for school" Wizards have never gotten close to that level of "success" ever since.

**** that guy.

Yeah, fully expecting Rivers to top 30 mins. Can't wait to see those three guard lineups.

Just a guess, if the Wizards get blown out tonight, it may be a wrap for Brooks. No coach, no matter the financial situation, isnt going to survive an extended run of non-competiiveness of a team with expectations.

And honestly Brooks is probably been wishing to be put out of his coaching misery.

Leonsis already set the expectations with his comment recalling the 2016 season.

The arena is empty. How embarrassing.
