I saw signs of eliminating the "Davis problem" in the Hornets game where the "automatic scorer" of the opposing team repeatedly kills us because of our erratic team defense. Now, PG13 and Schröder are so sticky (and Abrines much better compared to last year) that even if they are having a bad offensive game you can keep playing them for their defense and let other guys do their job while not constantly fearing about that single big threat of the opposing team. Last year I just hoped that management could find a TJ McConnell caliber "throw onto the opposing guard to wear him down" kind of guy but they got Schröder, the mini-me version of Westbrook so everything is super fine.
I am still not hopeful about an elite "team defense" from the first team because of the "steal first" attitude of Westbrook but much more hopeful about the second team.
Oh and by the way with every new Lakers game I guess everybody will see how correctly PG13 identified the dysfunctional Lakers and will understand the wisdom behind his decision. Lebron is acting like a spoiled brat and treating Lonzo Ball like a kid, sometimes not trusting him even to carry the ball over the court. With Tyson Chandler they are going to be running the "the desperate housebuddies of LA" show soon, some reality show material there.
