IF you are #1 overall, you are supposed to be able to play some decent D. Not harden type of D.

How can someone blame a goddamn rookie C but not two vets?

You go see how Ayton compares to every premier big in the NBA's rookie season and then tell me about how bad he's been.

Honestly most people overrate the defense of other NBA bigs. Ayton's doing just fine for a rookie big.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Bledsoe-Dragic-IT. I really miss the 3 headed hydra. Add Booker and Ayton and the NBA trembles in fear.

GOOD NIGHT SWEET PRINCE

We missed a rotation. One rotation. I'm not saying we do or don't have smart players. But basing anything off of one play, or even one game, is very narrow minded, and won't be accurate over the long term. Basing it off of one rotation, against any NBA offense, is short sighted. Have you seen these guys on offense (any NBA player). They're pretty good.I dont disagree. It was bad perimter defense. On one play.

Stoppit.... this is so not true... cause Kanter would bust your ass if you looked at him or a teammate wrong.

Ayton is as passive as they come. Zero mean streak. No temper mon, such a dont worry be happy attitude. He's got his $$, his #1 status. I remember the bad feeling I got when they were introducing the draftees... he came out and showed off his new watch/jewelry I swear to god.

How do you coach up a bad motor? or a 'its OK to lose' mentality. He will get owned by any toughie. Really.... has anyone seen him pissed off yet ?

I cant figure out Igor yet.... but any team that doesn't foul when up by three like that has to either be not listening or weren't told. Which is it?

Now, Its time for a collage.... cant hurt.

Negativity is fine. Saying we should fire Igor and that Watsons teams would crush this team. Calling out our ROOKIE big man etc etc is overreacting.

Ayton's lack of interior defense and intensity is concerning. BW posted a really good stat showing Ayton is giving up 71%fg at the rim, which is worst in the NBA by a center. I dont blame people at all for calling it out.

Fear of fouling on a flopping three point shooter and getting three free throws.

Hate to say it but if this is the case there is a chance Igor is in danger of losing the team already and by team I mean Booker...

Maybe starting Holmes next game sends a message to Ayton on his effort and defense? Ayton started the game strong then just faded as it went on. Need constant effort. Suns also need a PG (rubio) to get him the ball consistently without having to jump 10 feet in the air to catch the entry pass. I'd also contemplate starting Okobo next game and bringing up Melton for backup minutes. Canaan and Anderson are useless if they're missing all their open 3s. At least Melton will be a defensive pest and Okobo is aggressive in driving to the rim.

Ugh. If this is true, it's really bad. Makes me wonder again if Koko's lack of fluent English is a problem.

It looked like Prunty was directing the final possession during the timeout.

Ayton needs a damn coach! Igor is a soft and pathetic little beta male that doesn't have the testicles to chew Ayton out about playing defense. That is exactly what he needs! Also, when Ayton doesn't get the ball on O makes he checks out on D.

He's given him 14 minutes on the court. He's given Anderson 237. I think we can draw conclusions on one of those, and it isn't Bender.

And Bender at least TRIES on defense. Anderson is old enough to know that he's not good or even average even when he tries, so he doesn't.

I *try* harder than any NBA player you have ever seen. I'm 5' 8". I *try* like crazy. I have to play hard or I get clowned. I'm small and slow. I'm Jared Dudly and Dellavadova, minus 8 inches.

But trust me, you don't want me on the Suns.

Trying is nice and all. But Bender is a 100% scrub. Im sorry.

Who is that suit wearing young man who is a doppelganger of Brandon knight sitting next to Booker, is he like a assistant coach or something? why would we hire someone so green and inexperienced to develop our young players instead of someone having more experience in coaching and developing nba players?

I work with really smart people from USA and UK, English first language. We miscommunicate every day.
I've heard Koko at the podium. His English is fine. I'm sure he says "foul" just fine.

Kanter is a pussy as well, just another Jane.

I meant they will get their points and rebounds. But they won’t protect the rim and they don’t play and\y defense

Nice chime in Miyag..... but stats dont tell the whole story. This kid has a head problem and doesnt really know how to play basketball.....yet.

And not comparing basketball talents with Kanter.... the big turk aint afraid of throwing bows or bustin knuckles. I cant imagine what it would take to get Ayton so fired up he'd react aggressively.

And Anderson isn't? I don't want to have to play Bender, trust me, but if it's him or Anderson (at this age, not prime Anderson)... I might go with Bender. I'd prefer neither though.

Anderson is currently WORSE than Bender was last season by just about every metric. Even if Bender regressed, he'd be about the same as Anderson. Bender actually got a tiny bit better between his rookie year and his sophomore season. Let's at least see if he made even a minuscule improvement.
