ClipsFanSince98 wrote:Also WTF was with Doc putting SF's on Portland's centers entire second half? It led to Portland manhandling them on offensive glass, getting a handful of putbacks and just pushing them around for post scores. Doc is tough. He will coach great much of game, then do something inexplicably dumb such as this. Also why not try Ty Wallace? Milos clearly couldn't handle Portland's guards today. Team needed more defense.

ClipsFanSince98 wrote:Sorry for being a poor sport earlier. I'll be first to admit I get super pissed during games and petty. Most probably know that around here. Grats on the win man, tough team to beat at home for sure. Yea Clips are a solid team that just lacks a star to close games. You saw how big that was tonight with CJ hitting a few backbreaking shots late game.Roy The Natural wrote:ClipsFanSince98 wrote:At least the Blazers won a little respect back from me in the 4th quarter. Reffing had nothing to do with that quarter. It was simply the Blazers killing them on offensive glass, hitting more shots and Clippers making a ton of errors.

I will also say that the Clips have a really solid foundation. The team plays hard and has a lot of players who fit the modern NBA. They're a solid team that will probably have a lot of upset games this year where they beat teams that people think they shouldn't, assuming they stay healthy.
I'm just hoping that Seth Curry can find that rhythm he had in Dallas, and Harkless comes back soon. Blazers have some room to grow still.
What did you think about the rook SGA? I wanted to see him defend Dame more 1 on 1, but he got murdered on screens all night, so very little chance.

SGA has a shot at being a star, I think. But it's tough to tell. Those super big PGs seem to be hit or miss, and while he looks like a hit early, we need to see some progression still. He made a lot of REALLY tough shots tonight that probably won't fall every night, at least this early in his career. I think he needs to work on finding a way to get some easier shots.
From what I saw tonight:
- Solid shot, needs to get quicker though.
- Can penetrate and get by initial defender with ease, but isn't really sure what to do after initial penetration when trying to score.
- Good passer with height that gives him a good ability to see the floor off the drive.
- Talent to be a great defender, but needs seasoning. Too aggressive though, and I thought at one point he would foul out of the game before it ended.
- I'm unsure about his finishing, it looks "okay", but most of his field goals came from driving into a fadaway jumper tonight. He can dunk, but probably needs a bit of work on finding good angles to finish around/through defenders when there is no opportunity to dunk to take the next step at the rim.
He has the talent to be a major player, but progression is needed IMO. It's easy to get super excited about young players... I'm guilty of it with Zach Collins all the time, but tonight I was more worried about the shooting of Gallo, and the power of Harrell throughout the game. SGA definitely looked like a positive when on the floor tonight though.

Very few teams match up with the Warriors as well as the Bucks. They've been playing them close and beating them the past couple seasons. This game was anything but a fluke.

By Giannis standards, nah, he hasn't been good. It's been a really weird start for him.

Is his terrible offense why you want to trade him?

Middleton and Bledsoe have been great , there's no need for Giannis to pound the rock for most of the shotclock and run into 2-3 guys at the rim like last season with this ball movement + 3's system used by Bud.

Celtics fan.

We also face the Kings twice in the near future. I think it's time Yabu pays back some of that free money he's been given his entire career and bounces Fox for a nice 2 week ankle sprain.

ClipsFanSince98 wrote:They don't care about non superstars I guess! Yea, SGA shows amazing vision at times, then other times he just makes boneheaded passes. That aspect can likely be chalked up to just learning how to handle the physicality and speed of the NBA. You gotta admit his footwork and pace is amazing for a rook though! That hesitation blow by dunk, as well as earlier post spin he put on Dame (called that one an offensive foul) is NOT normal for a rookie guard. It's very much a throwback to the guards of the 90s like Penny and Kobe.zzaj wrote:ClipsFanSince98 wrote:Im still bitter SGA robbed of two clean blocks on the boxscore by calling a foul on one, and simply not counting another.

Welcome to the world of Zach Collins...he gets robbed of 1 or 2 a game.
Shai is a nice player. He's not great at setting up teammates yet, but that'll probably come. He has some good defensive instincts and length. I'd like to see him be a little more aggressive scoring...that'd open up his teammates some.

He doesn't remind me of either Penny or Kobe, but you are right, he has a "pace" about him that belies his age. Once he gets a bit more experience that will really come in handy setting up teammates. He seems to be a heady player, despite some rookie adjustment mistakes.
Honestly, I like this Clippers team about 1000x more than the CP3/Blake version. It feels more like a "team" concept.

Don't want to overreact... But how can any team hire Jason Kidd with the Bucks' transformation this season?

He should never coach again, to be honest.
