From 91-97, the teams traded baskets. 93-99 with six minutes left. Anyone could've won.

The Wizards had possession and the chance to cut the deficit down to four.

Then what?

The only thing that went right was defense. The guys played great defense from 1-5. The offense was still so broken and disgusting and out of control and horrible to watch as it has been for 99% of the year, and about 70% of the time that Brooks has been coach.

If i f*cking watch Oubre barrel out of control into the other teams players and/or our own players one more time, or watch Rivers do that stupid shimmy shake at the 3pt line ahead of a crappy drive and contested shot in too much traffic one more time, or see Wall get the ball passed back with 3 seconds on the clock and needing to shoot a contested jumper one more time..... or well, maybe one more time is a bit much.... but 50 more times, and I might have to renounce my allegiance to this team until such time as Brooks is gone.
This won't happen but THIS WOULD SOLVE EVERYTHING.

1. Put Ernie Grunfeld on notice that he is finished (but allow him to leave at the end of the season--so he can "choose" a fresh start elsewhere).

2. Give Scott Brooks at least another month before making any trades or coaching change.

3. If not satisfied with team progress simply fire Brooks and name an interim coach. Eddie Jordan could easily do a Larry Drew mop up.

EJ would be a fantastic coach for Wall and Beal because he would correct them behind the scenes.

I would say FIRE BROOKS ASAP, however in fairness, this is just game 3 with Dwight Howard. i think the Wizards CAN STILL MAKE the playoffs.

In short, just chill. Wall is who I have been saying he is. Allow his EGO to adjust and for him to LISTEN and adjust.

The Wizards need to trade Sato for someone like Richaud Holmes. Brooks is underutulizing Tomas.

That's on them but if the coach can't get them to play but they are stuck with the coach due to his contract, it's time to trade some players. Start with Markieff. Package him. Get rid of him. Get his slow, uninspired, unathletic, fake-tough ass off the team. Start Jeff Green until you find a younger alternative or start Otto at the 4 until he gets hurt again. Just move Kieff.
I think Green should start as well.

No, please. I mean, yes, please trade Markieff -- for any kind of pick or anyone cheaper than he is (but this will be more or less impossible. Nobody will want him).

But, start Jeff Green? No.

Does no one understand just how bad Jeff Green has played? Really?

This is a power forward who is getting 8 rebounds per 40 minutes. That, right there, is enough to tell you he isn't someone you can start at the 4.

Then, too...
He commits slightly more fouls than average.
He blocks fewer shots than average.
He turns the ball over more than average.
He gets fewer steals than average.
He gets fewer assists than average.

Those facts suffice to tell you he is barely playable at all.

Let me see, what am I missing. Oh yeah, scoring.
This year, Jeff is shooting the 2 at 8 percentage points better than his career average. &, he's at 96% from the charity stripe. Good, huh?

Unfortunately, Jeff is shooting 16.7% on 3's. The result is that his total scoring % is below average for a 4. That's on slightly below average usage, btw.

Now, don't get me wrong. Markieff Morris is not a good player; he's a bad player. That means he doesn't have any "good" years; he's never had one -- only bad years. & this year he's having a worse "bad year" than he had last year.

But, all the same, he's having a better season so far than Jeff Green.

So, no, lets not start Jeff Green at the 4.

Carmelo is stinkin up the Rockets . Kevin Love is breaking down and floundering in Cleveland. Tristan Thompson is young, he can rebound, and O would MUCH PREFER TT than K Love on the Wizards.

There HAS TO BE a three-way deal that could send Kieff, Ian, and ? to get back a starting PF.

Done.

Oubre and Smith to Denver for Hernangomez (Save 6.5M)
- Denver NEEDS a wing and has too many PF's. They stay under tax
*******************************************************************************************
Morris & Rivers (Cash Optional) to Kings for Shump & Ferrell ( Save 7M)
- Kings need a true 4 and take on no 2019 salary

Wall / Sato
Beal / Ferrell / Brown
Otto / Shump
Hernangomez / Green
Dwight / Ian

We'd be down 1 roster spot, but 3.5M under tax and able to add 2 Vet min players... Boom

Down 71-49 at half on national television game ... considering that the Wizards have been the secong worst defensive team in the league of 30 teams (allowing 120.5 points scored against per game) ...Dallas getting 71 was about 10 more than Wizards give...Also considering on 49 is so Wizards.

The Wizards are a jump shooting team and the GM over the summer traded away a facilitator of screen assists. Thus, many layups and secondary passes will have to be worked out in the future.

2-8 record
48 wins from Ted's mark of success.
(48-24 is still possible)

Exactly one week has passed. Since then 3-1.

5-9 record
45 wins from Ted's mark of success
45-23 is still possible
