Bamba's got such a soft touch on his 3... I wonder if he's going to be the first lotto pick during this extended rebuild to become a good 3pt shooter during their rookie contract? We need something like that to happen for once.

I know Rivers has gotten better over the years, but I still don't like him.

Team low -18 in a loss... pretty impressive.

The assisted shooting is nice, but seems the PG role actually went to Smart.

had a great game last night. problem was, inconsistency. he was shooting 33% from the field in the 4 previous games.

actually, he didnt. They both shot 7-13. Rubio with 17 pts, Rozier with 22 pts. Rubio had 4 more assists but also 4 more turnovers.

The team’s been cold - and it’s hard for most players to get into a rhythm in limited minutes. The -18 is a fluke stat - and Smart is a quarterback, Rozier is a lead guard. Gets the ball up the court quickly, not many turnovers.

Don’t think there’s a trade that works with Orlando.. Rozier/Baynes/Morris is what you’d need to stack salary for Vuc - and that puts too big a dent in Boston’s rotation.

Might be able to get Kris Dunn and Robin Lopez.. Indiana might think Vuc fits better next to Turner than Sabonis.. Vuc to the Pacers, Sabonis to Boston, Rozier/filler to Orlando..

In a weird way, even though his physical gifts *should* play up a lot more defensively, I've been quite a bit more encouraged with Bamba on the offensive end. His shot is incredibly silky and I see no reason why won't eventually settle in to being a well above average shooting center from 3.

You look around the league and realize there's only like four qualified centers shooting over 35% from three.

^^^ I think something similar will apply to Bamba in time. If he's a center that's willing to take a three every time he's open, he doesn't even have to make a tremendous percentage for the value to be huge because of the position effect.

Bamba's ability to drag opposing bigs out of the paint or their willingness to concede open threes to him will be HUGE if the team is able to find someone who can really attack the rim at a high level.

In terms of his numbers...

He's averaging 17 points per 100 possessions which is a lot better than I expected given how raw his offensive game was at Texas. One area offensively I've been really surprisingly pleased with Bamba is his assists. He was only 1.0 assists per 100 possessions in college and that number has spiked dramatically to 3.3 per 100 so far in the pros.

Yes, most of his assists have come off off dribble hand offs, but Bamba is so big (and he'll only get stronger and more refined as a screener) that he is essentially setting a pick for a guy getting a running start.

The kid has so much potential. I'm starting to believe he could become a really good all-around offensive player. Finding a better point guard with some vision will go a long way to unlocking some of the lob game we haven't really even gotten to see yet.

Defensively he looks lost more than he looks like he knows what he's doing, but despite all of that he's still 4th in the entire NBA in block percentage. He's never going to NOT block a lot of shots because of his gifts. His ability to take coaching and put in a greater effort defensively is what will determine how dominant he ends up being on that end.

I couldn't be happier with his development thus far. Especially considering how raw he was this time a year ago.

Orlando is currently 29th in the league in allowed defensive rebounds. Given the slow rate this team plays, this is AWFUL!

Well they brick a lot of shots... easy rebounds for the other team.

It's ridiculous how strong a center Vooch is in this league. There's so much (understandable) fan frustration here that obscures the fact that Vooch has become an absolutely elite center in these past two seasons. I'll repeat it again, there's gonna be like 12 teams in shock that they were no where close to trading/signing (more than likely, signing) for Vooch than they thought. Plan C is going to turn into Plan D and E and F pretty quickly for a lot of teams this summer.

Luckily, we have a lot of factors that can help us keep him on a fair value deal. We just need him to become a 6th Man as the starter spot goes to Bamba in 1-2 seasons.

I’m officially jelly of Philly’s rebuild! I don’t think they gave up much for him! They was a pick Orlando had and was used to land a superstar!
