Jimmy Butler Traded to Philadelphia (Discussion Continued)

Post#1 » by Domejandro » Sat Nov 10, 2018 6:39 pm

Other thread hit 100 Pages, I almost feel bad about breaking the conversation like this, but at least this will clean it up AND has a shiny new poll!

If there was an FRP thrown in I would love this trade, probably more than any trade proposed. That said it is still solid, gives us some of the right pieces to put around KAT and Wiggins. Still need to find the pg of the future but for now Teague and Rose will do.

I am disappointed with the trade right now but I don't know the players too well. We will see how I feel after a few games. Was really wanting a Richardson/Olynk deal. I think Butler makes out like a bandit though, gets absolutely everything he wants.

Really? **** man, I'm thrilled we got LaVine, Markkanen and Dunn out of our deal!

Disappointed with the return, not a fan of sending Patton out who is a very legitimate prospect should his feet heal and hold up. But I'm glad that the fiasco is over.

Time now for someone to step up and lead this team now that the drama is gone.

RoCo and Saric are rated 50th and 54th best players in the NBA by SI. They are both young and under incredibly team friendly deals. This was by far the best possible deal we ever could have got. I presented this on the Philly board a month ago and got laughed out of town by the 76ers fans.

I think Patton was included for luxury tax issues, Wolves might have been over otherwise

Wolves can sign him to a minimum contract next offseason

They are both ridiculously team friendly deals.

Markkanen wasn't proven at all, LaVine was coming off a major injury and Dunn... more then half this board hated the pick/player it seemed.

You now have your PF of the future, and your 3&D guy.... and with Bayless(when he's back), you can move Teague now too.

Right are covington and saric going to pull a sabonis and oladipo? I really do not see it at all, certainly not under Thibs.

For what it is worth, I legitimately do not think Kelly was ever involved in the deal, the only person to ever report that was Gery Woelful; it would have put Minnesota into the Luxury-Tax (could be mitigated by a Justin Patton inclusion), but he never acknowledged or considered that, his scoop was definitely a sham.

Robert Covington is a top three defensive wing and can space the floor. Will almost certainly never be a creator off of the dribble, but I am glad to have him.

Also, thanks for locking the other thread ahead of me, much appreciated!

Give me RoCo and Saric over those three seven days a week and twice on Sundays.

This was a great deal for the Wolves.

I can't wait to watch this team now. I really hope Dario starts over Taj. Funny how things change so fast.
