Butler complements the Sixers fairly well IMO. Saric will be interesting in Min as well. This may be a good thing for both teams in the end.

He´s an asset and will make them better but i do not believe he´s a good fit on the court. Reddick can´t split himself into three or four players. They are going to need some serious pacing and Butler will be taking Simmons off the ball more.

Going on a limb here, but I believe Butler is gonna destroy that locker room. Too many ginormous egos.

They won't fit the "modern" mold for sure but Embiid doesn't really either. I think they will be successful with him. They have the makings of a team that can play some good defense given the proper scheme/coaching. If they do get better and need shooting they can move a guy like Fultz for shooting at the deadline. They have some assets and a good core to go with Butler.

Sixers pretty much closed their team improvement options by marrying themselves to Butler, Embiid's health and whatever Simmons and Flutz might end up being without reliable perimeter shots. They are in danger of being stuck where they were when they started the process with Hinkie as a mid tier playoff team.

Sixers weren't a mid tier team with iguodala and jrue holiday as the go to players. Lol they were barely making the playoffs. They were always 7th or 8th seed. Sixers have a superstar now. Completely different. Even if this fizzles out to be nothing, I think anyone would take this team over a holiday, even turner, iguodala lead team.

True, but the NBA was not filled with super teams back then either. The top teams are just getting better at the expense of everyone else.

I agree, but we're certainly closer to the top than we were pre-hinkie. No one is probably beating GS anytime soon anyways, at least we'll be in the mix and be competing. After years of mediocrity and losing, what more could you really ask for?

Bron and Melo started this trend. Bron made it happen and Melo just talked about it but was unable to find a situation he could get to.

Old guy in the room statement to follow..... This stuff didn't happen years ago. Teams were typically much more organic in nature and the top stars connected with a city and stayed until the ownership decided they left most times. Now it seems that the connection to the city is very secondary to the largest exposure for a shoe deal or number of times on TNT in a season.

PHI has ridiculous talent in Embid, Simmons, and Butler. But losing Saric and Covington ... I don't see this making them better. And as noted by the estimable TyCobb, good chance he brings the plague with him. So, good.

Doncic might already be a top 30 player in the league.

I'm worried LeBron might go out and say Melo's name... We might have him on the roster...

1) Are there any roster spots open?

2) Would you guys consider Melo even for a vet min? like him coming off the bench wouldn't be too bad?

Don't like him, just thinking of some shooters - then again not sure how his been last couple years.

After the Rockets incident - NO! We're not looking for a punching bag for Ingram. Melo is a fake tough guy.
