Wow, how quickly people turn on this team and some players. Newflash this team is the 2nd youngest team in the league with 2 of our 4 older veterans out of the lineup. We are going to be inconsistent but the effort was there even if Harris had a horrible night and Malone still refuses to take Craig out of the lineup.
the only reason we are 9-3 right now is our backcourt. Without Murray and Harris this team is 7-5 at best but likely 6-6 especially after Jokic's disappearing act for 4 games.
People want to bitch about Murray not getting the ball to Jokic, did you guys watch the same game I did? No point guard is going to get the ball directly to any big that is being fronted, it is what makes fronting so effective and kept Kenyon Martin as one of the best post defenders in the league despite him being undersized. The only ways to get the bigs the ball in that situation is to throw it over the top, which the Nets were waiting for, or get the ball on the baseline side of the big and get it to him. Murray got the ball to Jokic multiple times on drives, but when the defense is waiting for the drive there is not much he can do. It falls on whoever is at SF or PF to pass the ball once they get it, but Lyles, craig, and beasley do not have that pass in their arsenal, they cannot make that pass. So that is on Malone for not realizing that he needed someone that can hit that pass on the court for Jokic to get the ball more.
I am wondering if Mark Price is not tinkering with guy's shots already. Beasley looks better, but it appears that Jokic, Murray, and Harris are all suddenly not looking like they have the same form that they had last year.
Also I really wish that they would fix this board, it is getting harder and harder to post on here using firefox.

Its not about Jokic being fronted, Murray doesn't pass the ball off the simple pick and roll action , he has tunnel vision, all he wants is to pull a jump shot . His playmaking abilities are very poor in general.

What pick and rolls? The ones where the entire Nets front court were waiting in the paint and Craig, Millsap, and Harris were a combined 1-10 from 3? For the pick and roll to be effective you need outside shooters making teams pay for crowding the paint, there were no passing lanes because outside of Beasley nobody was making the Nets pay for it. Nobody could have made those passes when they were both covered and there was at least 2 more defenders within arms reach, especially since Jokic is not athletic enough to get lobs.
It is much easier for Morris to be effective on the pick and rolls when teams have to be aware of Juancho, Beasley, and Lyles at all times when they are on the perimeter, it opens up the lane. Until Malone pulls his head out of his ass and has at least 2 good shooters on the court with Murray and Jokic than I am not going to judge how they perform the pick and roll offense.
The whole thing reminds me of a year ago when the Pacers figured out they did not have to guard Chandler, and instead had a SF waiting for Harris and Murray to cut to the rim. Chandler did nothing to make them pay, it effectively shut down all the cuts, and people were blaming Jokic for not getting the ball to the cutters. For it all to work you need spacing, which is what our starting group has been lacking this whole season.
Murray is never going to be Magic Johnson, but he is more than capable of running an offense when the proper players are around him to run that offense.

I am not talking only about a single game, you can spin it as you want but he's terrible as pg , always been.

I don't see this as "turning on this team" as much as voicing disgust from an underwhelming game. You have to agree this game was a home game most expected to win, we saw that result too many times last year and it cost us a playoff berth. And regardless if this is the 2nd youngest team, this core has been together for 3 years and that kind of chemistry has shown in this year, very lacking in the BKN game.

You seem to be overlooking the efforts the bench has brought to this team, Yes the starting frontcourt has been fragmented to say the least but give the bench it's due.

I've been wondering the same thing. Price was/is a very form conscientious shooter and as such wants to teach the same. He looks like he has had a good impact on Beasley but it may take the others a bit more to adapt to his process, question is at what cost/time frame ??
