At first I didn't see it but now It's very clear that Dlo/CL/Din + Fro need a floor spacer at the 4 and when RHJ is in the spacing is horrible. He keeps getting in people's way.
I appreciate RHJ's hard worker mentality but he looks like the odd man out as of now. He hasn't improved at all from last season.
I hope he can pick it up soon because it's not looking good for him. His injury during the off-season might end up biting him in the ass.
Rhondae's a hard worker it's just that he missed training camp when the new offense was put in place. He's learning how to play in it he'll figure it out.
what new offense?
DETROIT — After being the second-worst shooting team in the NBA last season, Nets coach Kenny Atkinson has tweaked his offense to go for even more spacing. After mixed results in the preseason-opening loss to the Knicks, Monday’s 110-108 overtime win over the Pistons looked more like how he drew it up.
“Ultimate optimal spacing,” Atkinson told The Post. “It’s not just for 3s, but high-value shots: Get to the free throw line more, get it to the rim more. That spacing gives us driving lanes, it gives us rolls to the rim, lobs for Jarrett [Allen]. And teams have to close us out for drives.
“
It’s new to us. I figure the more time we get to practice it, the easier it’ll be,” Russell said. “It’ll come like second nature.”
“Instead of four-out, one-in, we’re doing a lot more five-out. We have a lot more motion out of that. That does free up a lot more spacing,” Spencer Dinwiddie said. “We still have some of that four-out, one-in look. But to start, we’re trying to keep it as spaced as possible.”https://nypost.com/2018/10/08/this-is-the-new-look-offense-the-nets-have-envisioned/
That's why Rhondae started he was the one in and why Dudley is starting it's a different offense.
“Really the change was what best fit our personnel,” Atkinson said. “I come from that vein, our whole philosophy, what fits our personnel better than what fits Kenny Atkinson best, or our staff, or [general manager] Sean [Marks], but what fits our players. That’s how I think about it.”
The offense was changed for LeVert and Russell who had another good game in the loss.
