I like it Saric as 36 haha.

36 was the first number of any kind I got on the back of a sporting jersey when I was a little one, a Mr Saverio Rocca (who later went on to be an NFL punter).

1. Curiously agree - Wiggins is dangling by a thread ... I just dont know that he has that E-factor
2. I'd still like to get a legit center (move a PG for a Center)... KAT not built for "grind" mode under the basket.

Bench: Teague, Wiggins, Tolliver, Gibson, Dieng, Jones, Diop, Deng, Nunnally, Williams

or risk having him totally destroy it? I maybe wouldnt do it right out of the gate post-butler trade, but like the concept...

What? His numbers have been way better when butler didn’t play, up his value, then hopefully we end up with reddish and we can try to unload wiggins contract and get something positive back..

Pre-Jimmy = Wiggins more touches = higher numbers = fewer wins = no playoffs
Jimmy in = Wiggins less touches = lower numbers = more wins = playoffs
Jimmy out = Wiggins more touches = ??numbers?? = ??Wins?? = ??playoffs??

Gotta let it play out. For a max player, it's fair to expect touches, numbers, and wins ... else we may need to try him off the bench or something.

Well, I have been away since Saturday, and I’ve read a lot about the Butler trade. I keep hearing,
“I think MIN should have taken Richardson and a 1st!” Or “I think MIN should have taken four 1sts from HOU!”

You know what no one is saying?
“MIN really needed the awful multi-year contracts of Dion Waiters or Brandon Knight rammed down their throats!”

I also don’t hear anyone saying ..
“The PHI offer didn’t have any multi-year bad money!”
. Or ...
“the 2022 second rounder, the higher of the DEN or PHI pick” could be in the year that the NBA first allows high schoolers, doubling the talent - that pick could be worth more than a late 2019 1st, with Jimmy, from HOU or MIA.”

Blech. No real value in the rights to match overpaid offers on those guys in the spending spree of 2019 free agency, when half the teams in the league have cap space.

I just overreacted to the "should" and "likely" in your comment...With the current system the way it is, I don't think Covington can sustain his current production especially on a team that plays little to no team defense on a consistent basis. Covington is by far the Wolves best defender now and his presence might not raise the play of WIggins or Towns (You would expect it to but if Butler couldn't do it...)

What Wiggins and Towns should have a huge impact on what Covington does. If Wiggins and Towns actually play to their potential and that contract (I know that is unrealistic, but at least raise their level of play significantly from what it is now and do it consistently), that should make Covington into an even better player. Same with Saric.

Fair enough, but these people who want to go into full tank mode on the chance we get a draft pick that turns out good sickens me. We got two players who are quite good and should be good for a long time to come.

Agreed dabom, time will tell if butler plus young stars is the way to go, it didnt work here, maybe in philly.

Covington is a stud, we should get more ball possesions because of him, we got enough scoring, so i doubt butlers O will be missed, at least not really bad

I don't think KBD keeping his number if an incoming vet wants it should be a priority. It must not matter much to RoCo.

Yeah, we really believe that. JB got a nice trip out west, and wasn't going to play when asked.
I haven't read the whole thread yet, but I think we did about as good as we could given the circumstances.
I will be interested to see what was actually offered from all teams.
