Well if the team was more serious after 94-86 we would not be discussing refs now(agreed this was bad officiating---the non call on brogdon was unbelievable).
Also, defending PnR is a known problem. Shots some days get in some days don't. Tonight they didn't.
Good to see Connaughton again, relieved with Giannis FTs.
Grizzlies are a very good defensive team and Conley healthy is a great point. Gasol had one of those night.
On to the next one.

There will be nights when the 3 just doesnt drop. Ersan was awful. 6 more TOs from GA. Loved the adjustment going to Thon, but stuck with him way too long. Bud absolutely CANNOT get a T there. Conley is really good. Next.

I really don’t think the defense was bad tonight.

His lack of a jumper is a major major flaw in his game. There is no sugar-coating it. He literally has an opportunity to take a wide-open jumper on most possessions. His shot is so broken right now, his confidence so non-existent, he can't even give you a legitimate pump-fake. I mean, this isn't to say Giannis isn't a phenomenal player and a phenomenal talent. BUT, that jumper is his key to being an all-time great.

disagree with the last sentence, i think he will be an all time great regardless because he is so unique and not to keep saying it but shaq had no jumper

The refs deserve a lot of blame. They were trash. Why people refuse to ever put some blame on them, especially when it’s this blatant...just stop.

T was absolutely not his fault. He literally asked "What was that?" and got tossed. No sane ref makes that call. Most insane refs don't, either.

This is as good a time as any for people on here to take a bite of humble pie after some of the pregame predictions, and that includes myself. I was wanting Patty C to be cut preseason, but he was our best player tonight, and has been consistently coming out with defensive energy.

The refs were bad but it was both ways (for Mike Conley to get his 2nd tech of his career you know he was screwed on that play toward the end of the 2nd quarter).

And he shouldn't have. That Phineas and Ferb or whatever his name is should never ref an NBA game again.

Agreed.

Now take a look at the fact that he scored 31 points in 10/14 FGM/FGA and 11/12 FTM/FTA and tell me his jumper cost us the victory. Because last time I checked, we kept praising this team because it was shooting well around their superstar.

Also, by expecting GIannis to be able to shoot well (at 23 y/o), you expect him to have the influence of an all - time great player right now. That is not reasonable.

Today most of the roster failed badly. Brogdon was not good. Lopez was once again getting exploited. Even with that, we were one Ersan sitting on the bench away from winning this. This loss has nothing to do with Giannis.

Jabari got a better jumper than Giannis, since its a MAJOR flaw despite him being the most efficient scoring 31, doing **** everything on the court why not take Jabari instead since he got jumper ?

Just ridiculing the ridiculous hot takes

Yeah. That's an utterly ludicrous take. How can someone watch Giannis and not see the jumper flaw in his game? It's indefensible. Jabari?!? JABARI?!? How do you even bring his name to me. Pfffffft.

And what did Bud have to gain by saying anything? Weak T, but shut up and coach your team. Cant risk it.

We were up in the 4th and let let them back in it because of stupid plays. Bledsoe is not inconsistent from game to game but minute to minute.

This is dumb. We have as a team the opportunity to take an open jumpshot from anybody on the court just because of Giannis.
Giannis taking these shots right now even at 30% is exactly what they want from us.
I mean Philly loses games like tonights just because Embiid falls in love with his jumpshot.

Others should keep taking the jumpshots and Giannis with Bledsoe should keep attacking the rim in every opportunity.
We just needed 5 minutes of this with a couple 3s to make them look shaken.

This is just a dumb and weirdly unnecessary argument. Bizarro straight up says Giannis is a phenomenal player even without the jumper and you randomly bring up Jabari? You're way too sensitive about this stuff, it's beyond ridiculous at this point.

Im not concerned at all. Memphis, clippers are surprises but also really good. The west is deep.

We didn't shoot well, it happens. Ersan needs to do better.
